About the Author
Preface
This text is a collection of hymns, poems, dirges and songs written by the author over a period of nine years. It is a historical text, a memoir and a book of prophecy, all at once. The work has been refined through the years and is intended for mature, open-minded audiences only.
The poetry in this book is open to any interpretation and may not necessarily be a reflection of the author’s beliefs or experiences. While some poems have been borne out of the author’s experiences, others are conceptual poems. This is especially so in the first and third chapters of this text. The first chapter of the book is largely based on accounts of histories that have been reimagined as experiences. A lot of the subject matter deals with pre-existing phenomena that has existed since the beginning of recorded time. This is a chapter about the rich potential present in beginnings.
The second chapter, The Festering , is largely an attempt to immortalise the events in the life of the author. This collection is very personal and may not make sense to some; it should not have to. In this regard, all interpretations of the poetry may not be correct or accurate. Do not make an attempt to decide that this collection will explain who the author is.
The third and final chapter is based on prophecies about the future. They tell what will happen when the end comes and the Great Mother Dragon rises from her watery slumber. The chapter also deals with apocalypse and day-of-reckoning type prophecies from a variety of other cultures.
It is hoped that this text will prove a worthy navigational tool for your journey, and that it will occupy a suitable position on your bookshelf for years to come.
Acknowledgements
I would like to thank my family, without which, none of this would have been possible. Yes, I am different. To Gabriela, thank you for always supporting me. This text would not have even reached publishers without you. To the artists Trigiometri (Indonesia), Ziyang (Singapore) and Shane (Ireland), your creations were perfect accompaniments to this text.
Special thanks to Ho Jiaxuan, my voice of reason and a true friend through the years. Thank you for the honesty and criticism and for editing this work. I want to thank Ziyang “Pies” Chua, my one true brethren in the Hungry Abyss. Thank you for the artwork, literature, support and reading through so many of these poems, at an early stage of conception. There is so much that we understand that they do not…and they never will.
This collection of poems is also dedicated to the memory of dear friends who have crossed over. I will treasure all the times we had, as much as memory will allow me to.
Last but certainly not the least, I would like to thank the Current 218 and The Abyss. I will continue the Great Work until it is time for me to cross over to The Otherside.
THE FIRST CIRCLE: Concep tion
“Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of god was hovering over the waters.”
- Bereishit 1:2

FOR AZERATE
Black Flame
It wanes not,
Flickers not,
And never shall.
It blazes
Endlessly,
Never dwindling,
Never extinguished.
The faceless flame
In the face of
Demiurgical winds.

I am awakened –
Swallowed whole by Tehom,
I am willingly
Consumed by Chaos.
Hail Tohu!
I hear you,
Thaumiel!
Wordless whispers,
Sinistral songs of infinity
That dance on midnight winds.
Hymns of adoration
Eternally roll off my lips.
Until I find refuge

Under Her
Black leathery wings.
I ride with Her,
Striking down gods
With Her poison arrow tail.
O Mighty Dragon!
We are one
By the flames of Kingu.
Individual fires that make up
The Black Sun;
That blinding light
That will sear the eyes
Of the unworthy.
Spider of the Unknown,
Crawl upon this world and
Envelope everything
In darkness.
The unstoppable force –
An unseen light,
The Hungry Abyss
That will consume the cosmos.

And there is the Beginning.
Inseparable
You were my better half
And I yours.

For months we grew together.
Twenty little fingers and
Twenty tiny toes.
Our heartbeats tuned to
Mother’s metronome until
Someone forgot to wind your clock.

We were inseparable –
Not literally,
Thankfully,
I’d hate to have to
Drag your remnants around
With me for the rest of
My life.

But I think I already do.
