Never Too Late
The bills piled up in several stacks
All the credit cards used to the max
Income less than what is being spent
Coming up three months behind the house payment
Driver’s license in the process of being suspended
Receiving checks from unemployment just ended
Leaving no spare cash to pay that court fee
Maybe it’s time to file for bankruptcy
The banks force you out of your house
Taking everything, even your spouse
Who just couldn’t take anymore
And walked right out the front door
It seems there’s no reason for you to live on
Because everything you worked for is now gone
This is the price you pay for living your life recklessly
Now don’t you wish you lived your life more responsibly?
Just remember it’s never too late to turn your life around
You’ve only messed up the first round
This doesn’t mean you have to in round two
Just pick a better life you would like to pursue
And switch your life’s pace to slow
So you don’t have to hit a new all-time low
Be smart with all the new decisions you make
To keep from making the same big mistake
Then finally, all of life’s wonders will be yours to embrace
Like they say, slow and steady wins the race
King of the Ring
Two men dancing in a ring
Waiting for one to throw that first swing
Looking each other dead in the eye
Trying to figure out whose act is but a lie
With so much hate
The Champ throws that deadly straight
Receiving the deadly stab
The Challenger returns with a fatal jab
Not stopping there
With no mercy to spare
He takes a quick look
And throws out that right hook
Connecting with the Champ’s jaw
Avoiding even a single flaw
Without being shoddy
He goes to work on the body
Beating on the Champ’s gut
The Challenger gets stopped by an uppercut
With no time to recover
A combination is what the Champ is waiting to deliver
With those three perfect blows
Blood starts running from his nose
Going for the first-round win
The Champ goes for the chin
Making perfect contact
The Challenger gets a fatal impact
Putting him in his place
Which is on the canvas flat on his face
Losing the short dance
The Challenger blows his chance
To be in the ring
And defeat the number one boxing king
