Description

Truly, this is a magical tale of the magic of doggies.
Charlotte, the adorable Shih Tzu, is loved and adored by her “parents”. As with all doggies, she is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks. Go on this journey with Charlotte and she will tell you how doggies find refuge in The Magical Garden from their worldly fears.
Read about how Charlotte takes her Daddy to The Magical Garden, about how he is reunited with all his pups and about how Charlotte and her family save The Magical Garden from terror, ruin and darkness. Join Charlotte on her journeys of discovery as she experiences new facilities in The Magical Garden and as new games are created for canine pleasure. Let Charlotte tell you about how doggies deal with the feline menace and about what happens when her good friend, Joe, goes missing.
Charlotte will tell you about a fresh attempt by dragons to ruin the world, about how she is caught between two worlds, about her wedding and parenthood, about a new threat to The Magical Garden and about how she is plunged, inextricably it seems, into another dimension by an evil magician.
Charlotte’s Daddy, unable to contain his anger at being bamboozled by the arrogant magician, collapses into a coma. Meanwhile, Charlotte can see everything and hear everything but everyone in the world is oblivious to her presence. She cannot even go to The Magical Garden and no one knows where she is.
Will Charlotte’s Daddy ever recover? How will her Mommy manage on her own? Will Charlotte ever return? How will this affect her family?
Truly, this is a magical tale of the magic of doggies.

Here it comes again, I thought. Another day of rain and thunderstorms. It would not be so bad if it happened once in a while, but this was the sixth day in a row.
Daddy was with me yesterday and he’s with me today as well. At least he makes me feel less frightened when he cuddles me and plays with me to take my mind off the thunder and lightning.
I quickly ran to Daddy, who was at his desk doing some work. He picked me up gently, as he always does and gave me a tight squeeze.
“Why is my little girl scared?” he asked. “Didn’t Daddy tell you that Daddy would always protect you?”
That much was true. Daddy always protected me; whether it was from other dogs, cars or even Mommy when she was mad at me, which by the way, does not happen very often.
As Shih Tzus go, I’m a little more active than most. I’d like to think that I’m pretty much well-behaved and loving. I’m always very quiet too, like all Shih Tzus. Mommy only gets mad when I try to jump onto the bed at night.
Every night, Mommy puts my mattress on the floor next to the bed before she goes to sleep. Most nights, Daddy is up till late, working on his computer. When I feel cold or know that it’s about to rain, I try to jump onto the bed and end up making Mommy mad when I wake her. Although I came to live with Mommy and Daddy almost two years ago, it’s still impossible for me to jump onto the bed. It’s another Shih Tzu thing, you know. Sometimes I just wish that I had Jack Russell legs.
CRACK! There’s the lightning now. BOOM! …and the thunder! My nose started to twitch with the unpleasant smell of ozone and my whole body started to tremble again.
Daddy hugged me tight, like he always does and tried to calm me down. I was shaking uncontrollably, so he took me into the room and we both lay under the sheets, while he sang to me.
It would be another hour before Mommy got home, but I didn’t mind as Daddy was always singing to me and making up songs for me. Daddy and Mommy both loved me so much and I loved them, too.
Daddy must have been really tired because he had hardly slept in the last two days. He was always at his computer. He started dozing off while he was singing and after a few unsuccessful attempts at staying awake, I guess his body just gave up.
I really don’t like rain, thunder or lightning. Right after I was born, I was taken to the pet shop to be sold. The owner of the pet shop would feed me by bottle two times a day, in the morning and evening. As the pet shop was not officially open yet, it was closed most of the time. It was only open when it was feeding time. The rest of the time, I was alone in the dark, except for two large dogs who growled and snarled when I whimpered. I was terrified!
To make matters worse, in the dark with two snarling dogs, I had to endure the terror of thunderstorms, too. Morning, noon and night. How I so wished that I was with my mother, who would comfort and soothe me, but I never knew my mother. I did not even know what she looked like. I was taken from her when I was just a day old and my eyes hadn’t even been opened yet.
I was there in that dark pet shop for about three months when they took Snarly and Growly away, but then I had to put up with a month of terrifying fear, being left alone in the dark. After that, the pet shop owner brought in another Shih Tzu and two of her newborn pups. The pups were almost as adorable as me!
We were placed together in a large cage and thankfully, this time the lights were left on all the time. I tried to play with the pups, but their mother would snap at me and chase me away each time. The pups were active and mischievous, but their mother was a mean old grouch.
Another month went by. I was five months old and tired of this place. I could not do anything but eat, sleep and poop. I had no family and no friends. I did not even have a toy to play with. I was really sad and wished over and over again for a father and a mother to love me.
I was surprised when a few days later, a man
