Description

Stephen Peter Oldham is relatively new to the poetry scene. In his first book, he explores the issues facing 'Modern Man' through poetry, muse and stories in his original style of 'Real Fiction'. Stephen examines issues facing humanity at this time as diverse as the family unit, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health, creation and revelations of prophesy! In this unique book, there are many questions raised which may one day lead to the ultimate question. Who are we and just what is it that we are supposed to be doing here! Take your time and enjoy his rhymes or read more purposeful perhaps. Designed to entertain, Philosophical Muse will certainly make you ask questions!

About the Author
Stephen was born in Liverpool and grew up in a small village called Rainhill, near St. Helens. He attended West Park Grammar School and moved on to graduate from the university of Aston with a BSc Hons in Managerial and Administrative Studies. This led him into a sales career, where he worked successfully for a brewery and several pharmaceutical companies. After completing his MBA at The Manchester Metropolitan University, he successfully moved into pharmaceutical management and later ran and owned a public limited company selling ECG equipment. Following an unhappy divorce and descent into depression, alcoholism and at times drug dependency, natural pathways have led him into becoming a writer, poet and storyteller. He lives in Cambridge, near his three children, where he often performs his work on stage in his unique and original style of ‘Real Fiction’.

Part I
Introduction
Look and see,
Upside down,
Brain controls me,
Therefore, I am two,
Me and brain,
Aim is to work rhythmically,
To create cooperation and unity,
To be happy,
To be free,
To be!
When you next awaken from a period of sleep, try to glimpse the world as your eyes see it in that moment of consciousness just before reality takes over and your brain converts the image to the right way up so that you can make sense of it. Life is what we make sense of: it is the energy source that we call upon to live our lives. The energy is always there, yet our lives move at varying speeds and create various rhythms. If we are having a good day, then our rhythm is good. If we are having a bad day, then our rhythm is drowned out some. It is in the rhythm of life that sets our emotion: our level of happiness. Modern diseases such as drug and alcohol addiction, mental illness and depression appear to accompany the material treasures to be purchased within society. Have we lost our way or are we simply looking at the wrong perspective? Is it all merely the wrong way around?
We refer to our emotion as mood and when we go to meet other people it affects us in some way. Have you ever heard someone say that he or she is not feeling themselves today? People have goals and ambition in life, yet we cannot do what we really would like to do a great deal of the time. Perhaps the biggest agenda is to find a mate, but along the path of true love lays the disease that is the monetary system which controls the mechanisms of society and limits artistic ambition and stifles creativity. It is at the root cause of our failure as Homo sapiens. We have simply failed to ‘Love’ each other. The material world is stifling ‘Spiritual Wealth’ and endangering our existence. The planet we live on really is at ‘Tipping Point’. Shall we continue to topple the coins down the machine hoping to edge the prize token over. We could escape with £10,000.00, but will we be able to spend it? For a few dollars more or even a fistful of dollars shall we remain good, bad and ugly? Will Clint get his gun out and save the world or have I simply been watching too much telly?
My name is Stephen. After I got thrown out of Heaven for bringing the dead back to life, I have wandered Earth as Homo sapiens. When I reached 50 years of age I received my message informing me that I am now allowed back into Heaven.
This was wondrous news to me as I am a Healer, a Spiritual man who can now unite Heaven with Earth. I have been writing this book and appearing on stage since I first received the good news and have finally completed it. As Mark Twain said, ‘The two most important days in your life are when you are born and when you find out why.’ I hope you enjoy reading my stories, poetry and muse and find some ‘Peace here and now on Earth’.
I am from the constellation of Ophiuchus. I am Sagittarian in nature as I was trained by a Centaur. I have a number of arrows to fire as I travel along my life path dreaming of that day when we no longer fear death and the Heaven is once again united through ‘Spirit’ with the Earth and ‘Peace’ will rain over us.
From the mass murderer to Little Red Riding Hood, I think it is safe to assume that the point of creation leads to more creation, that point dependent upon how you think. This is your ‘Life path’, your journey through life.
We try to walk in rhythm and we think! Thoughts come whether we like it or not. They come from outside of us and from within, from our external environment and our internal environment. We process thoughts and data in our brain and catalogue them into the appropriate areas. We use judgement in the process. We rely upon our moral code of right and wrong. To go beyond good and evil as Nietzsche did, can only lead to madness. We are highly evolved Homo sapiens, not ‘Superman’. We let out our thoughts through speech and behaviour adding to the consciousness of the wo
