CHAPTER 1
“Oh yes! Damn, daddy, please don’t stop!” Alexa moans as Deon deeply strokes her with a hard thrust.
“This is my pussy, ain’t it? You my bitch!” Deon says as he pounds on Alexa’s pussy from the back. After about an hour and a half of sex, Deon and Alexa lay in bed, cuddling. “You know I love you?” Deon says softly in her ear.
“Yes, baby, I know, but I don’t want to lose you to the streets or the system,” Alexa replies.
“I know, baby,” Deon replies.
“Promise?” Alexa asked.
“Yes, I promise,” Deon responds.
After a quick nap, Alexa gets out of bed and heads to the shower to freshen up and get ready for work. As Deon lays in bed, he’s in a deep sleep, dreaming.
“Damn, where the fuck could the safe be?” Deon, a.k.a. Demon, thinks to himself as he and Montae, a.k.a. Monster, ransack one of their plugs’ houses.
“Found it! Over here!” Montae says as he moves the bed and sees the floorboard has a digital keypad on it.
“Now what was the code again?” Monster asks. “Five-six-zero-one,” Demon replies.
Monster enters the code and pulls the floorboard, revealing stacks of money. “Jackpot!” Monster yells.
“Shut the fuck up and bag the shit up,” Demon says while throwing Monster the duffel bag. “I don’t think all of this will fit,” says Demon as Monster fills the bag. Demon looks out the window and sees a car pulling up. “Oh shit, he’s back,” says Demon in a panic. Monster zips up the bag, still leaving money behind, seeing that the duffel bag was already full.
Monster and Demon rush downstairs and head to the back door.
As Ganja pulls his 2020 Bentley into his driveway, he senses that something isn’t right. He gets out of his car, still leaving it running. As he goes to open the side door, he hears noises from the back door; the door opens and slams. Ganja pulls out his .40 caliber Glock and runs toward the backyard.
“Hurry the fuck up!” Demon yells as he pushes Monster out the door. Monster and Demon run out the back door. Ganja sees them and lets off three shots toward them. “Bow, bow, bow!”
“Oh shit!” says Demon as the shots whistle past him and Monster.
“Bow, bow, bow, bow, bow!” Ganja lets off five more shots at his intruders.
“Fuck!” Monster yells out as he is struck with a bullet in his neck and falls to the ground with the duffel bag in his hand.
Demon stops and turns around. “Damn, bra, come on, get up!” Demon says. Demon tries to pick Monster up and put him on his shoulder.
“No, bra! Here, bra, just take the bag and go. I’m not gonna make it, bra,” Monster says as he releases the duffel bag from his hands.
“No, I can’t leave you like this! Come on, bra.”
“Bow, bow, bow!” Demon hears more gunshots.
“Bra, just go, please,” says Monster.
Demon grabs the duffel bag and takes off, running through the backyard.
Ganja approaches the body lying in his yard, realizing this is a familiar face. “You fucking coward ass bitch! I put you on and this is the thanks I get?” says Ganja as he steps closer to Monster.
“Fuck you!” says Monster as he tries to catch his breath.
“I got your fuck you! Bow, bow, bow!” Click, as the final shot is released into Monster’s skull.
Deon makes it two streets over when he hears the shots. Deon gets into an all-black 2015 Dodge Dart as he speeds off and a tear rolls down his cheek.
“Deon, Deon, Deon!” yells Alexa as she pushes Deon, trying to wake him up.
“Yeah, bae, I’m awake,” Demon says.
“I’m about to leave for work. Your breakfast is on the stove,” Alexa says as she throws on her scrub jacket and heads for the door.
“Light, Iight, thanks,” says Demon.
“I love you. I’ll call you on my break,” says Alexa as she walks down the stairs and heads to the door.
“Yup, I love you too,” Demon says as he gets out of bed, heading to the bathroom, and gets in the shower.
CHAPTER 2
The Beginning
“Pow, pow, pow!” screams three-year-old Demon as he runs through the house, chasing his four-year-old cousin Montae.
“Y’all better sit y’all asses down and stop running through my damn house before I whoop your ass!” says Sabrina. Sabrina is Deon’s mother. She’s twenty-three years old, 5’2”, caramel complexion, and a tattoo of a butterfly on her lower back. Sabrina grew up in East Cleveland. Sabrina’s mother passed away from an overdose when she was twelve years old, and Sabrina grew up in foster care, living from house to house. Now she’s currently living on east 149 th Lakeshore where she is raising her only child, Deon. Sabrina’s baby’s father, Demon, is a big-time drug dealer in the Westside of Cleveland. Demon met Sabrina when she was working at Wendy’s in Cleveland Heights. Demon and Sabrina hung out for a while; two months later, Sabrina became pregnant with Deon. Demon is twenty-five years old and a high-time prime in the drug game. When Sabrina is seven months pregnant she begs Demon to leave the streets alone. He will always tell her, “OK, bae, I will after this last play.” Sabrina knows that the only way he will stop is if he ends up in jail or dead.
On June 29, 1999, Demon is killed by an unknown driver at the red light intersection on E 140 th in Kinsman.
On August 8, 1999, a five-pound-three-ounce baby named Deon Rakin Oliver is born. It is hard for Sabrina to raise a child as a single mother. Struggling to make ends meet, Sabrina starts dancing downtown at the nightclub called Four Play.
One day while at the club, Sabrina has gotten into a fight with some girls, and that’s when a girl named Monique, or Mo, jumps in to help Sabrina, a.k.a. Bri Bri, against the other girls. “Y’all bitches got me fucked up if y’all think I’m just gone stand here and let y’all bitches jump Bri Bri!” Mo says.
“OK, you lucky Mo here to save you,” one of the girls from the pack says to Bri Bri as she walks off.
“I don’t need nobody saving me.” Bri Bri stares back.
“It’s OK, girl, fuck them hating ass hoes! I’m Monique, but everyone calls me Mo.” Mo works at Four Play for a couple of years. She was underage when she started, but she had the body and the mind of a vet so the owner let her work. She does mostly private dancing. Now she is barely in the club, but this night was the annual ballers’ night so all the big-time ballers and hustlers were there. Mo notices Bri Bri because she is the cute innocent girl that everyone knows and also because of her baby’s father, Demon. Everyone respects Demon and knows he loves Bri Bri so it is only right for Mo to be of help to her.
“Hey, I’m Sabrina, but everyone calls me Bri Bri.”
Mo and Bri become great friends after they vowed to always have each other’s back.
CHAPTER 3
A year later, Mo has a son named Montae. Mo and Bri Bri still are tight; they are more like sisters now so Montae, nicknamed Monster because he is always tearing something up or making loud noises, looks at Demon as a brother. Demon and Monster grow up fast, but as they are growing up on Cleveland’s Eastside, everyone knows when Demon and Monster are around; it is double trouble.
