Description

Handwriting expert and Holocaust survivor, Jacob Bruno has his life take a fateful turn when asked to restrict testimony on a forgery case, yet swear an oath to God to tell the whole truth. Conflicted, the old graphologist takes on the haughty Judge Wellingham and pays a big price, fined $10,000 and put in jail for contempt of court. In covering this lightning rod case, Modern Times ace reporter, Rudy Styne, expects it to become a cover story, when out of nowhere, a nine-year-old up and coming ice skater and cover-girl darling, Jay Jay Martin, is kidnapped from her home in Bountiful Utah. With a hundred reporters flocking to the state, and Rudy's court story pushed to the back burner, Rudy requests to join the herd, particularly when it is revealed that there is a ransom note implicating the ice skater's father, corporate megastar, Skipper Martin. Who else would be best to compare the father's handwriting to the ransom note than Jacob Bruno?Marc Seifer has constructed a dizzyingly complex tale which involves a love affair between palm reader Max Minkowski, and a young graphologist and Jacob Bruno protg, Sarah Calloway. This story takes the reader to an incest cult in Utah, to a psychic troupe touring the Northeast and back to New York City where Jacob Bruno is involved in another forgery case that leads to manslaughter. Can Rudy Styne find the kidnapper or solve the murder? Will the hit man kill again or get off scot-free? Find out in FATE LINE: A Graphological Murder Mystery. "An often engaging thriller series... that's worth a read." Kirkus Reviews

THE RUDY STYNEQUADRILOGY :“An… engaging thriller series… that’s worth a read!” - Kirkus Reviews

Marc Seifer hasconstructed a dizzyingly complex tale which involves a love affair between MaxMinkowski, a palm reader, and Sarah Calloway, a young graphologist and protégéof handwriting expert, Jacob Bruno. Thistale ties together several threads including handwriting analysis andpalmistry. Key elements have some interesting nuances to their arts, regardingidentity and what this “means” to be a person. Another interesting aspectinvolves ace reporter and colleague, Rudy Styne, and his quest to find out whokidnapped Jay Jay Martin, a child wonder ice skater from Bountiful Utah. Thisaspect concerns how sex has infiltrated society too much and the possibility thatshe is the victim of a pedophile. In his quest to understand themotivation of such a monster, Rudy seeks out experts on Sigmund Freud andrelated theoreticians. Overall, Fate Line remains an unusual, informative scientific thriller. - Sally Ann Carpana , Modern Times

RudyStyne is the standard intrepid reporter trying to write a major article aboutHolocaust survivor and esteemed graphologist, Jacob Bruno. However, as soon asBruno (80+) is seduced by Mrs. Titcomb we know something foul is afoot. The sexual servitude plot gets creepily graphic with Skipper Martin whoapparently has seduced his ice-skating daughter, Jay Jay, but she goes missing. As there is a ransom note, Seifer uses this technique to tie the story back toJacob Bruno and now the reader is hooked. - Irving Moth, Rotten Apples

Theidea of incorporating elements of neuroscience, palmistry and handwritinganalysis into a suspense novel is a tantalizing one, and Fate Line delivers enough twists and urgency to keep the pages turning. - John Hirshon, NYCHerald
THEDEFINITIVE BOOK OF HANDWRITING ANALYSIS

Altogetherthis book rises like a lighthouse out of the morass of the other graphologypublications in the USA. The author presents a great array of Americanhandwritings on astoundingly high level. Although the author only had accessto English sources, in spite of this, it is amazingly comprehensive. Maybe thisbook gets into the hands of one or another university professors and if so, itmay help to break up his/her prejudices and this could lead to a raise instandards of academic psychology in the America.
HelmutPloog, Ph.D., Editor-in-Chief of the German handwriting journal AngewandteGraphologie und Personlichkeits Diagnostik.

Marc Seifer’snew book is one of the best written on [handwriting analysis] in the last 10years!
Robert O’Block,Ph.D. founder, American College of Forensic Examiners

This book coversit all. If you are serious [about graphology], this volume is worth putting onyour shelf.

rasputin’s nephew

An espionagethriller, (a la Tom Clancy)…. You write with great intelligence and authority. Nicolette Phillips , New Vision.

This is a terrifically originalbook, with elements of satire as well.
Dr. Stanley Krippner, author of Songof the Siren

Like a journeythrough the Major Arcana [of the Tarot], Rasputin’s Nephew takes thereader into the bizarre and mind-boggling world of the paranormal. I enjoyedMarc Seifer’s book thoroughly.
Uri Geller, Paranormalist Extraordinaire

As one whobelieves that good science fiction writers are the precursors of things tocome, your novel's early pages are causing me the first symptoms of FutureShock…Your writing about the psychic world seems so precise that it seems morereal time than a work of fiction. Can I assume you are writing fiction or areyour fictionalizing real historical events?
Al Perry
DOPPELGÄNGER & crystal night

Dr. Seifer’snovels contained some fascinating and well-researched details about World WarsI & II that added richness to the narrative. He displays admirable ambitionand he crosses genres ably in his quest to tell a large-scale story in the secondtwo novels of his QUADRILOGY . Using an impressive amount ofresearch, the author paints a wide panorama which includes an inside look atNazi Germany as a Jewish family struggles to maintain their small prestigiousairline in an anti-Semitic environment. But these two books are not just rootedin the past. There is also a modern story, a search by the protagonist, newsreporter Rudy Styne, to uncover a master hacker who is attempting to take overthe internet as he is also moved to discover who is German double is and whohis biological parents really are. Yes, there are a number of diverse paths inthis complex tale, but Seifer deftly brings all threads together including howboth world wars were conducted from the German perspective. Given the novel’sbreadth, the pace is quick, particularly considering the myriad topics coveredand the large cast of characters. Overall, this is an imaginative, worthy andambitious work.
Compilation ofcomments from New York City Editors.

DOPPELGÄNGER

In Doppelgänger, Marc Seifer runs a story of the 20 th century through German eyestogether with a contemporary U.S. murder mystery set in the cyber-world. Hemasterfully ties the two stories together through Abe Maxwell (b. 1906) who isabout 98 years old in the contemporary story. Seifer tied Abe to both RudyStyne, the hero, from the U.S. to Rolf Linzman, Rudy’s sometimes protagonist,of Germany.
