Description

The Enduring Kindness of Christians has been their trademark ever since the first century. This church-age truth bears fruit in this story.

My dear friend, God has His very unique way of planting His loving, Christian saints in just the right places. They are there to love just the right people, at just the right time. The ingredient of love is really the one ingredient that turns saints into true creations of God, made after His own heart!

The Enduring Kindness of Christians has been their trademark. They have their very own personal stamp, which has set them apart from all others in the vast ocean of humanity. This has been true ever since Jesus left His foot prints for them to follow. By following His example saints have realized that they have found the great secret of life. That secret can only be found when we choose to mine the great treasure-chest of God’s wisdom given to those who will spend their lives reading God’s Word, The Bible. Each person who chooses to pick away in this mineshaft, will find the greatest of all treasures and they will find the secret of life. They will learn that we find the most pleasure in life when we are pleasing God. When we are most satisfied with making God happy, by the way we live our lives, that having such an attitude will bring much happiness to God. When that happens our lives bring glory to God and God, in turn uses us for the benefit of others! The Enduring Kindness of Christians, to God be the Glory!

Foreword
“ And when He went ashore, He saw a great multitude, and felt compassion for them, and healed their sick ” ( Matthew 14:14).
“ And seeing their faith, He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven you ” (Luke 5:20).
“But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you ” ( Matthew 5:44).
T hese verses from the Bible tell us of Jesus’ love, compassion and forgiveness. They also give us a better understanding of His “enduring kindness.”
What does it mean to “endure?” There are several definitions, however, one of those definitions is to sustain. To sustain means to support. That is what “Enduring Kindness” does. It supports those in need. It supports those who are hungry and those who are sick. Enduring Kindness forgives those who have sinned against us, and it loves the people whose paths cross ours. Sometimes that means loving our enemies, just as Jesus commanded.
Mr. Rousseau, once again, uses his fictional characters to create for us a story that is filled with biblical truth, instructions for living, and admonitions from God’s Word. It is a story of the love, grace, mercy and “Enduring Kindness” that the Lord, Jesus, displayed during His short time upon the earth and continuing through the presence of His Holy Spirit in all believers.
It was my privilege to play a small part in helping Mr. Rousseau share his heart with his readers.
May the Lord help you to see all of the truths woven throughout the story of “Enduring Kindness.”

Introduction
L ong before the creation of time, before the existence of any worlds, when only God existed, “Kindness” existed with Him.
The author of all time and creation, then began to create, and create He did! “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Our finite little human minds cannot begin to comprehend what this moment, in the eternal annals of time, must have been like, as Holy God began to start the monumental task of creating an entire universe. He placed in it His first created human, bringing him to life with the very breath of God.
The purpose of this story is to convey to each of you, that the Author of our lives is the very same Creator of the earth and all people since Genesis chapter one. Indeed, my friend, we are His dearly beloved created beings, authored and created by someone who knows our destiny. Yet, our Creator has given us the freedom to make our own decisions.
As we read those first few chapters of Genesis (1-3), we must think of what “Enduring Kindness” God showed to His first created humans. God knew, in His foreknowledge, what would happen, and yet, He showed Enduring Kindness by creating them anyway. As we reflect upon God’s unceasing, unconditional love for all of us, we must remember that His Enduring Kindness is it’s main ingredient.
In Part One of our story, we will see this displayed in the life of Holy God Himself, Jesus Christ. He left the glories of heaven and came to His creation to show His Enduring Kindness to His created people. We will see the love of Jesus as He totally involves Himself in the everyday needs of all the people who come to Him. He shows Enduring Kindness in providing food for the hungry. He shows Enduring Kindness in healing those who are sick and in need of various other healings. He shows Enduring Kindness, love and endless compassion, in being willing to spend time with people, loving them, and showing them His endless kindness.
Please remember, my very dear reader, each time we read the Gospel stories, we are reading a history of the Enduring Kindness of Almighty God that He showed to all of us! The Creator of our lives showed us the real reason why He left heaven and came to His creation in what He did for us on the cross of Calvary. He came to take away all of the sins that we committed, and placed them on Himself. He paid the cost of them by actually, physically, dying on the cross. Amazing, isn’t it! To think that we put the Author, the Creator of our lives, on the cross, and that He voluntarily loved us so much, His created beings, that He chose to give Himself for our sins (Romans 5:8).
God did all of this with the hope that, His created beings, when they read about His resurrection from the dead, (the proof that He really is God), they will put their faith in Him as their personal Savior from sin. They will do so because the Holy Spirit of God has moved on their hearts and drawn them to Himself. As a result, they will spend eternity with God in heaven, (John 3:16).
This is the ultimate sacrifice! The Creator and Author of our lives, doing for us what we are unable to do for ourselves, becoming our Redeemer! He not only created us, but He came to His created world to show Enduring Kindness to His created humans. Jesus came to save, from their sins, those who will place their faith in Him as their personal Savior.
In Part One of our story, we will try to catch a glimpse, with our finite minds, of what it might have been like, before the creation of all things, for God, when only He was alone in all of His Enduring Kindness, truth, wisdom and knowledge. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out” (Romans 11:33).
In Part Two of our story, you will be introduced to the author’s fictional characters named “Kindness” and “Endurance.” They are creations from this author’s imagination that were featured in some of his earlier books. They are specifically designed and created to represent the Enduring Kindness that God showed to us.
Though no fictional author’s created character could begin to show the magnitude of God’s love and kindness, your author has created his own from the land of the “God-created heart.” The characters, though fictional, represent real humans with eternal souls, who are redeemed by Jesus Christ. These characters are not perfect. One character is in the form of a woman and is married to a man. Her name is Kindness and her husband’s name is Endurance. Together, their desire is to be used by God. They desire to be so consumed with who their author has created them to be, that they want to share Enduring Kindness with everyone they meet, in their short journey called “physical life,” in this temporal world.
God was so consumed with a love for His created people, that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to this world to show His Enduring Kindness to us. Now, in a much smaller way, this insignificant author sends to you his created beings.
In Part Two, they come to visit the people who live in this world. Their purpose is to show love, care, concern, and kindness to others with an unending endurance. Ultimately, their purpose is to show this Enduring Kindness to the point that everyone sees what their Redeemer, Jesus, did for them on the cross. This is the purest example of Enduring Kindness for all of humanity to see.
You will have the opportunity to see how Kindness and Endurance, like Jesus, waste no time. They realize that their time in this world is very shor
