Description

Two teenage boys, Peter and Vaskin, and their friend, Masha, convince Vashkin's professorial father to let them accompany his expedition to an unexplored region of Antarctica called Ergonia.
Their mission: discover if life exists below the mysterious cloud cover on Ergonia's Mount Erebus, the tallest mountain in the world at 22,000 feet.

Shortly after arrival, Masha is captured by an unknown civilization of giant five-million-year-old ants that practice prehistoric rituals.
The expedition, led by the inventiveness of the two boys, identifies a rescue plan with the help of brightly-colored tic tac candies.

Ultimately, the entire team escapes and memorializes the extraordinary adventure for history.

1. Spitball Champion Moscow, Russia Present Day On the first day of school, a teenage boy with disheveled light brown hair, who was wearing a soiled blue shirt, entered the classroom nervously, looking for a familiar face. The teacher, Alla Ivanna, approached the boy. “And you are….?” “I’m Basil Petrov.” She pointed to an empty seat in the third row. Basil’s big brown eyes immediately noticed a slim, neatly dressed boy in a white button-down shirt, with dark brown hair and shifty bug eyes, sitting in the next seat over. Alarm bells rang in Basil’s brain.Serious nerd ahead! Avoid at all costs! Basil instead headed for an empty seat in a different row, but the teacher would have none of it.

͞The Boss͟explains the ground rules in her class  Alla Ivanna wanted the children to know who the Boss of the classroom was. She quietly walked up behind the unsuspecting Basil and tapped firmly on his shoulder. Basil nearly jumped out of his skin! She sternly pointed at the seat next to the bug-eyed boy. “Young man, I saidhere, next to Peter Vaskin!” Surprised and a bit intimidated, Basil fumbled and bumbled as he began to place his textbooks on his assigned desk.He didn’tnotice as a piece of green paper tucked between the pages fell to the floor. Peter picked up the paper, read it, and smiled. It proclaimed, “Basil Petrov, Spitball Champion of Junior High School No. 7.”
