Chapter 1

“W hat the fuck you mean you pregnant?” Kaine asked as he stood in the middle of the living room staring a hole into Tameka’s forehead.
He was so pissed off at the fact that Tameka brought her ass to his house unannounced flashing a pregnancy test around for everyone to see. He was so mad that the muscles in his jaw line were twitching. Not only was he pissed off, he was also in disbelief because Tameka pulled this mess right on his new fiancée’s birthday.
Man, this some bullshit, he thought to himself.
When he turned to look at Karma, she already had tears running down her cheeks and the look of happiness that she had on her face was quickly wiped away and replaced with sadness.
“I am so sorry, baby,” Kaine moaned out to her.
Kaine honestly didn’t know how Tameka magically ended up pregnant or if she was even telling the truth. For all he knew, Tameka could’ve just been trying to ruin her birthday and play mind games with him.
As Kaine tried to reach out and grab Karma’s hand, she jerked back, stared into the crowd of people, and walked out of the living room, leaving everyone standing there with shocked looks on their faces.
The room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
“Karma, hold up!” Lexus yelled as she followed behind her friend.
Karma rushed up the stairs with Lexus following behind and as soon as they made it into the master bedroom, Lexus slammed the door behind them.
“Ummm…I’m sorry, y’all, but I’m going to have to cut this shit short. I got something’ to take care of,” Kaine said as he rubbed his hands together.
He was so embarrassed; he didn’t know what to do and he felt like not only was Tameka trying to hurt Karma, but she was also trying to ruin his reputation and create a scandal that would soon hit the streets. For Kaine, that was an uneasy feeling because one thing that he didn’t like was people all in his business and spreading rumors. He was flashy in a lot of ways but when it came down to his life and what he had going on, he liked to keep a low profile.
As Kaine stood there huffing and puffing like a wild bull, Dino walked up to him, put his hand on his friend’s shoulder, and just shook his head while Tameka stood in front of them rolling her eyes.
Everyone in the room slowly exited the house without saying anything. They were so in shock that there was nothing that could be said. There were no goodbyes, hugs, or kisses. Just people walking out of the front door with their heads hung low.
When the living room was clear of guests, Kaine loosened his tie underneath his blazer and lost it.
“Tameka, are you out of your motherfuckin’ mind comin’ to my motherfuckin’ house without a fuckin’ invitation?”
“What the fuck ever, Kaine! I came to tell you somethin’ important!” Tameka yelled as she threw her hands up in a fit.
“Why the fuck you ain’t call? You blow my phone up any fuckin’ way! You did this shit on purpose!”
Dino could see that his friend was starting to unravel into a rage, so he squeezed his shoulder tighter and said, “Kaine, nigga, I need you to calm down.”
“Yeah, get ya boy!” Tameka yelled.
Suddenly, Kaine began roaring in anger!
“You did this shit on purpose, bitch!” Kaine yelled.
“Oh, I’m a bitch now!”
“Kaine! Chill!” Dino yelled as he pulled him away from Tameka before he could do damage.
Kaine wasn’t the type of man to beat on a woman, but he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to ram her head into the wall and crush her skull.
Dino carefully directed Kaine to his large, white sectional sofa and they both plopped down on it and sighed at the same time.
Kaine buried his face in the palms of his hand and sighed heavily. It was taking everything in him not to lose his mind and get ignorant with Tameka.
He wanted to go check on Karma, but he just couldn’t find it in himself to face her at that moment because he was too emotional to think straight. Not only that, he didn’t even know what to say that would bring her comfort. Her birthday was ruined, and when he thought about it, it made him sick
The news of Tameka telling him that she was pregnant with his baby was too much to bear and a tough pill for him to swallow. As far as he was concerned, he was way past Tameka and had no desire to even look at her, let alone have a baby with her.
“Look Kaine, I’m not trying to start no mess, but the fact is I’m pregnant. I took a test and it came back positive.”
Unsure if Tameka was telling the truth, he looked up at her and replied, “Take another test, but you gon’ take that shit right here.”
Tameka nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders as if she was unbothered by what Kaine was saying and folded her arms.
“Okay, I got another one in my purse. I’ll take it.”
While Kaine and Dino were downstairs handling Tameka, Karma sat in the king sized bed crying while Lexus held her in her arms. Tears flew out of her eyes and onto Lexus’ Givenchy dress.
“I can’t believe that bitch. It’s taking everything in me not to go down there and fuck her up,” Lexus said as she shook her head in disgust.
She continued to cradle Karma in her arms while she ran her fingers through her hair. Lexus was very overprotective of her and didn’t like anyone fucking with her. She wanted to go downstairs and drag Tameka’s ass all up and through the house like a rag doll, but at the same time, she didn’t want to invade to make things worse.
After sobbing for a few more minutes of sobbing, Karma finally pulled herself away from Lexus and sat up straight in the bed with a tired look on her face. She wiped the tears away from her face with the back of her hand causing her mascara and foundation to smear all over it. She then looked down at the large, sparkling ring on her finger and sighed at it, wondering if all of this was even real.
“I know she did this shit on purpose,” Karma sighed.
“Yeah I know. Obviously that hoe ain’t got nothin’ better to do,” Lexus replied.
Just when Karma thought that things were finally coming together in her life, Tameka swooped in like the wicked witch from hell and pissed on her parade.
“How did that bitch even know it was your birthday?” Lexus asked with a salty look on her face.
“I don’t even fuckin’ know. She could’ve been stalking my damn Facebook page and saw it there. I had been talkin’ about my birthday all week so the nosey bitch has been plotting. Either way, she knew that it was my birthday.”
“Yep and she knew Kaine was going to go all out for you, but her jealous ass just couldn’t let you be great.”
Thinking about it put Karma deeper into depression, so she took a deep breath and tried to calm down. She had no clue what Kaine was going to do, so all she could do was sit still and just hope that he would make a decision so that they could move forward and put Tameka and her bullshit behind them.
Kaine stood in the downstairs bathroom with his arms folded while Tameka slowly unbuttoned her high waist jeans. He was nervous and his heart was beating so fast he felt like he was going to vomit in the sink. If Tameka was pregnant, it was going to be a real game changer.
Tameka spread her legs, exposing her shaved pussy, put the stick right under her clit and peed on the pregnancy stick.
Kaine slowly rocked back and forth, praying that the test would come back negative. The seconds were starting to feel like minutes and it seemed like Tameka would never stop peeing on the stick. Watching her piss on the stick was almost like a nightmare for him.
When Tameka was finished, she shook the dripping urine from her stick into the water, flushed the toilet, and just sat on it while waiting for the results.
Two minutes later she handed the stick to Kaine and when he saw the positive pregnancy result he sighed.
“I told you,” Tameka whispered.
She stuck the plastic cap on the stick, stood up from the toilet, and pulled her pants up.
Damn, Kaine thought.
He looked Tameka right in her eyes and could see the glow and excitement in her face, but he didn’t feel the same way. He wasn’t trying to be an asshole, but he wanted her and the baby to go away.
“So what’s next?” he asked as he scratched under his chin.
“What you mean what’s next?” Tameka asked with a confused look on her face.
“Tameka… I don’t want no baby with you. I ain’t even gon’ lie. I just proposed to Karma.”
“So what the fuck does that have to do with me?” Tameka yelled.
“A lot!” Kaine fired back.
Kaine didn’t want to deal with Tameka and the baby mama drama that he knew she was going to put him through. He wasn’t trying to be insensitive, but he just didn’t want her
