John was an unhappy salesman. He disliked his job and hated to go to work each and every day. He was not satisfied with any part of his job. He looked sadly at his end of the year bonus - five hundred dollars. Not much for all the work he had done. But his company was not doing well and five hundred dollars was as big a bonus as they could afford to give to their employees
John looked at his bonus and knew he should do something with it that would bring some happiness to his life. But John just didn’t know what to do to change his circumstances. He said with a sigh, “God, tell me what to do.” He threw the check on his desk and went to watch TV.
That night he had the most difficult time falling asleep. He tossed and turned and couldn’t seem to rest. His heart seem to pound just a little faster than normal. His arms and legs seem to tingle from time to time. His back and neck would at one moment be tense and then a few minutes later relax only to tense up again.
