Introduction
This story is about three students at the Merlin school of magic, who were born to become Seers. Seers are magical folk who can look into the past, future and present with the help of a magical window known as the window of all-seeing.
A long time ago, Merlin the wizard and five of his best students took on Morgana, an evil witch (who wanted to rule the world) in a bloody and violent battle. All five of Merlin’s students lost their lives by having their heads decapitated, and it left Merlin badly injured.
But with his last bit of magic before he is supposed to have died, and after managing to seal Morgana away into a mystic vase for the rest of her life, he cast a spell on their heads to make them the heads of the Merlin school of magic households we know today. Now it’s time for you to read the story about the three new students who are destined to become Seers.
Chapter One

The Houses
Our story begins with the birth of our three students. The first student was born into the witch line and the witch heritage, which is strong in magic and maybe brave in battles but not full of confidence, but are still considered the weakest of all magical folk. The second student was born into the wizard line and the wizard heritage, the wizard line is more skilled in battles, and although their magic is stronger than the witch magic, it is less harmful as it is more focused on healing rather than killing. The third student was born into the sorcerer line and the sorcerer heritage, this is considered the very best at magic and battles, but they can be overconfident about their skills. Now meet our three students.
First student in our story is Sophie Duvel. Sophie is a sorceress and she is considered the most beautiful sorceress in the village, but apart from being beautiful, she is also smart and cunning. Sophie has jet-black hair and firm white skin, she is five feet, seven inches tall with a figure of a more mature woman; she is well educated from her early years by her parents who were teachers, so Sophie is well brought up, but she can be very difficult at times; if things don’t always go her way, she will try and find a way to make things happen for her own gains.
Our second student is Chris Magnusson. Chris is a male witch and he is considered to be the freak of the witches, because he stands seven feet tall and he is the first male witch to be born, and like Sophie, he is very intelligent. Chris stands above all his peers and fellow students; he has brown hair and a long slim body and long skinny fingers, but Chris is more into books than playing with friends like normal boys and girls.
Our final student who is destined to become a Seer, is Luis Salieri. Luis is a wizard and is also very intelligent. He is the most skilled wizard in the village for his age, he also knows more than he thinks. Luis is from Italy; he has dark hair and is quite well built for his age. Luis is also very good with learning from everyday life; his skills come from his grandfather, who was a soldier in the Italian Army.
The three students all lived in different parts of the village, and the only time that all the families met, were at the market and the school. The school is called Merlin School of Magic, after the most famous magical being of all time, Merlin. There are five houses in the school.
The first house is called Merlin House, and the students of Merlin House excel at all types of magic, but not so in battles, because Merlin was not skilled in battles; his skill was to help people not kill people. But Merlin’s main purpose was to protect Arthur, the King of England. Their house flag colours are white with a black mosaic face of Merlin on the back.
The second house is called Morgana House after Merlin’s first apprentice witch, Morgana, who was skilled in black magic. Their house flag colours are black with a purple mosaic dead rose. Morgana House students are good at learning black magic and are fairly good in battles, and the house also knows some light magic so they don’t end up like Morgana, who got turned by an evil witch. That left Merlin no choice but to lock Morgana away in a magical vase with a very powerful spell on it. If anybody were to read the inscription on the vase, it would set Morgana free on the world. If you are wondering where this vase is, well, it got lost in the human world and it has been lost for many a year.
The third house is named after Merlin’s best friend, Arthur. The Arthur House is named after the King of England in the late fifth and early sixth century. Arthur was skilled in battle and so the house is skilled in battles, and they know a little magic. Their house colours are gold with a white mosaic crown.
The fourth house is named after Merlin and Arthur’s best friend, Sir Lancelot. Lancelot knew all about Merlin’s magical powers, but kept this secret till the day he died. The Lancelot House is good at battles and knows more magic than the Arthur House, and their house flag colours are Silver with a mosaic mirror on the back.
The fifth house is named Balthazar House, after Merlin’s second apprentice, Balthazar. Balthazar was Merlin’s greatest student. He was very skilled in all types of magic and battles. The Balthazar House are very skilled in all types of magic and battles and their house flag colours are red and black with a mosaic dragon on the back.
The way that students got picked for their rightful houses was by the last remaining piece of Merlin and that is his index finger, which has been magically enchanted to point at a student and then point to what house they are to join. After a few students had been chosen for their houses, it was time for Sophie to see what house she would be joining. As the finger started to move, the head teacher, Anubis Dragonfire, started speaking, “Merlin’s finger has begun his judgment to see what house you, Sophie Duvel, would be in.”
Sophie’s inner thought, The Merlin House, please the Merlin House . As the finger began to move up over Sophie’s head, it began to move left and right as the Head teacher kept talking, “Merlin’s finger has begun to pick your house Sophie Duvel and your house is,” as the finger slowed down and picked, “the Balthazar House is your new home, Sophie.”
Sophie let out a loud shriek and said, “Err … wait, WHAT! I am in the Balthazar House; that can’t be right, there must be some kind of mistake.”
The Head teacher said, “There is no mistake, Sophie. Merlin’s finger has picked your house and it’s never been wrong.”
Sophie: “Well, this time the finger is wrong because all of my family has gone to the Merlin House, and, I too should have gone to the Merlin House not the Balthazar House.”
The Head teacher shouted, “Enough Miss Duvel, the finger of the greatest magical being ever to live, Merlin, has never been wrong and if you don’t like where you have been put, then you can leave!”
Sophie started crying, “But I … wanted to go … to the Merlin house … I guess I’ll go to the … Balthazar House because … I don’t want to leave.”
Sophie sat down with her new housemates waiting to see who else is going to join her. Next was Chris Magnusson. As he walked to the Merlin finger, he too was not sure where he would be put. After a few minutes, he too was put in Balthazar House. As Chris walked to join his new housemates, the Head teacher shouted at him, “Are you not a warlock young Magnusson?”
With a turn of his head, Chris replied, “No sir, I am a witch, you know warlocks are forbidden, so why are you asking me?”
The Head teacher said, “Of course I know that, young Magnusson, but I want to know, have you ever used magic for your own good?”
Chris replied, “No sir, and I would never use my magic for my own good because my mother told me what would happen to me if I did.”
The Head teacher replied, “OK, as long you understand, now take your seat.” Chris took his seat and watched the rest of the students get picked for their houses until it came down to the final students.
