Insights from Chapter 2

#1

The Jewish wedding contract, the ketubah, had just been signed. My sister had chosen me for the honor of being the great-niece of Nette, who had five marriages behind her. I was nervous about singing at the wedding.

#2

My sister and I had a very different personality, and we went to different colleges. We didn’t meet until we were both at camp, and we became best friends. When I realized that Keith wasn’t going to leave my sister, I tried to talk to her about the importance of playing the field.

#3

The wedding was beautiful, but the day before the wedding, my sister and I checked into a hotel together to sleepover. The next morning, my mother and the other bridesmaid joined us, and we had our hair and makeup done.
