[1] [2] Isabel Lucas(born 29 January 1985) is an Australian actress. Perhaps best known for her role as Tasha Andrews on the Australian television soap operaHome and Away(20032006). Lucas moved to Los Angeles in early 2008 and has since been featured in film and television projects includingTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen,Immortals,The PacificandDaybreakers.
Early life [3][1] Lucas was born in Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of Beatrice, a special needs teacher, and Andrew, a [4] pilot. Her father is Australian and her mother is Swiss, and she speaks German and French in addition to her native [1] English. As a child, Lucas lived in Cairns, Queensland. She also lived in Switzerland and Kakadu, in the Northern [5] Territory. Lucas went to St. Monica's College in Cairns.
Career Lucas was involved in drama during her school years and attended courses at Victorian College of Arts and Queensland University of Technology. But Lucas had never pursued commercial roles until Sharron Meissner, a Sydney talent agent, claims she 'discovered' Lucas while she was vacationing in Port Douglas. She auditioned for the role of Kit Hunter inHome and Away(now played by Amy Mizzi); although the producer of the show, Julie McGauran, felt that role was not right for Isabel, she was sufficiently impressed to have a new character, Tasha [1] Andrews, created for her. Lucas won a Logie Award (for new popular talent) for her performance on the [1] program. Playing Tasha Andrews onHome and Awaywas Lucas' first television role. She appeared in an [1] American television commercial for Crest toothpaste. Lucas was cast as Gwen in the Steven Spielberg World War II miniseries,The Pacific. She appeared inTransformers: Revenge of the Fallenas Alice. Reports suggested that although assigned to the William Morris Talent Agency in Los Angeles through the auspices of Meissner

Management, Lucas obtained the role of Alice in her native Australia before moving permanently to America. It has been claimed that Lucas was handpicked by Steven Spielberg. Michael Bay, director and producer ofTransformers, [6] has denied that Spielberg influenced the decision to cast her. Her subsequent theatrical releases included Daybreakers(8 January 2010) andRed Dawn(21 November 2012). [7] In 2010, Lucas appeared in an advertisement for Daylesford tourism. In 2011, Lucas signed on to Terrence [8] Malick's filmKnight of Cups. In November 2012, Lucas was featured as the main character in the music video for "Give Me Love" by British [9] singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
Activism In October 2007, Lucas was part of a group of thirty people from Surfers for Cetaceans, including American actress Hayden Panettiere, surfers David Rastovich and Vaya Phrachanh who took part in a protest against dolphin hunting [10] drive in Taiji, Wakayama, Japan. The group paddled out on surfboards to the dolphins to attempt to stop the hunt, but they were forced to turn around after being intercepted by one of the fishing boats. They drove straight to Osaka airport and left the country to avoid being arrested for trespassing by the Japanese police. There is still an [5] outstanding arrest warrant for Lucas in Japan. Many Japanese consider this kind of act as an attack on their [11] culture. In a news interview, Lucas stated that this was for purely economic reasons, claiming polls show that 70% of Japanese oppose whaling. Taiji's fishery cooperative union argues that these protesters "continue willfully to distort the facts about this fishery" and that the protesters' agendas are "based neither on international law nor on [12] science but rather on emotion for economic self-interest." Lucas is a spokesperson for the Australian National [13] [14] Breast Cancer Foundation and supports many organisations, including World Vision, The Humour [15] [16] [17] [18] Foundation, Women Against Violence, Oxfam Community Aid Abroad, Global Green Plan, Save the [19] [20] Whales Again and Sea Shepherd. In 2010, Isabel Lucas and the Summit on the Summit team climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise [21] awareness about the global clean water crisis. [22] Lucas, a vegetarian, was nominated as one of Australias Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities on PETAAsiaPacific.com [23] for 2010.

The2010MTV Movie Awardswas the 19th annual ceremony which took place on June 6, 2010 in Los Angeles, [1] California. Aziz Ansari served as a host for the 19th annual ceremony. Voting the nominees began from a list of eligible contestants on March 29, 2010, and ended on April 9, 2010. The nominees itself were announced on May [2] 12, 2010, and the winners were voted by the public. MTV, MTV2, and VH1 all broadcast the ceremony simultaneously; the three networks combined for a viewership of [3] 5.8 million, down from 5.9 million viewers last year. The show has gained some controversy for constantly using the term "fuck" and its derivatives by its presenters and Peter Facinelli, who accepted the Best Movie award. A number of them were not muted because of its live [4] broadcast. Parents Television Council president Tim Winter, responding to the program's TV-14 rating, stated: "It is an outrage to the content rating system. If it had been a motion picture, it would have been rated R. The fact that it [5] [6] was rated 14 shows what little respect MTV and Viacom have for the content ratings."
