I was such an awkward-looking child, I've no idea what happened. I didn't have a good childhood because I never could get along with other kids. I was the child that sat in the corner eating lunch by herself. I worked in the library at lunchtime because I had no real friends. I read a lot and educated myself a different way because me and school didn't get along. Even boys were never interested in me. I remember playing [4] kiss-chase in the first and second grade. I would run but no one would ever chase me.

Early career [3] A popular model, Blalock left home at 17 to model in Europe and Asia. She has appeared on the cover of many men's lifestyle magazines, was twice featured inMaxim's "Girls of Maxim" gallery and was named the 10th sexiest woman in the world in 2005 byFHM. She posed for a clothed fashion layout inPlayboyin April 2002. She was later interviewed by the magazine for its "20Q" section in February 2005.
Blalock spent years dieting as a model and was relieved to move into acting, saying: "I'm jaded by my experiences in the modelling industry. You're never skinny or perfect enough, and it was difficult mentally making the transition to [2] acting."
She made her television debut in sitcomVeronica's Closet, before guest appearances inThe Love Boat: The Next Wave,CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,JAG, and starring as Medea in a 2000 television movie adaptation ofJason and the Argonauts. She also appeared inOn the Edgeand the mini-seriesThe Diamond Huntersbefore being cast in [3][2] Star Trek: Enterprise.
Star Trek: Enterprise [2] Landing a role onEnterprisewas Blalocks biggest break, and she described it as a dream come true. She admitted she was excited at being a newcomer to the series:
We're really fortunate. More than 100 people are working together on this every day and we haven't had one argument. It's incredible. I've had [5] bad days in my personal life, but it's always a joy to go to work. There's also a sense of immortality that the show gives you, that you're working on something that will never die, that your contribution will last forever. That's a very special feeling.
Blalock said of the original series: "Spock wasStar Treks real sex symbol. People always assume it was Kirk, but [3] they're wrong." She made her first appearance at a convention in Pasadena, California, in March 2005. Her second appearance was at an autograph signing show in Milton Keynes, in late April; this was soon followed by an appearance at a convention in Bonn, Germany, and others.
2003 - present Blalock appeared in the filmSlow Burnwith LL Cool J and Ray Liotta which was shot in 2003 between seasons of Enterprise, unveiled at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2005 and finally saw limited theatrical release in 2007. She guest-starred in two episodes ofStargate SG-1as Ishta, leader of a group of female Jaffa.
She was scheduled to appear on an episode ofLostduring the 20052006 season as a former love interest of Sawyer (Josh Holloway). Even though she filmed some scenes, the flashback scenes in that episode were changed from Sawyer to Michael (Harold Perrineau), and her scenes were never used in an episode, nor featured as "deleted [6] scenes" in the DVD set's bonus material. Set photos from the shooting of a scene surfaced in 2008. She played Captain Lola Beck inStarship Troopers 3: Marauder, which was released directly to DVD in the US, on August 5, 2008. She made an appearance on theHouseepisode titled "Teamwork" as Lexa, the wife of the porn star featured as the patient in this episode; airdate: November 16, 2009.

Jason and the Argonauts (TV miniseries)
Jason and the Argonauts (TV miniseries)
Jason and the Argonauts, (also known asJason and the Golden Fleece) is a 2000 TV movie, directed by Nick Willing and produced by Hallmark Entertainment. It is very loosely based on the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts.
Plot The film opens as soldiers invade the city of Iolcus. King Aeson's (Ciarbn Hinds) brother Pelias (Dennis Hopper) is leading the charge. Inside the temple he goes to embrace his brother but produces a dagger and kills him during the embrace. This is witnessed by his wife Polymele (Diana Kent) and his son Jason (Jason London). He intends to do the same to Jason but one of the guards rescues him and takes him out of the palace through a secret tunnel. It is then revealed that this is a memory, experienced as a nightmare by an older Jason, who awakes. He is then ordered by his uncle to retrieve the golden fleece. He recruits a crew from the simple folk of Iolcus, including shepherds and farmers. He is joined by Hercules, Orpheus, Atalanta and the brothers Castor and Pollux. Acastus stows away on the ship. The Argonauts run aground on a strange island in the middle of the ocean that is actually the sea god Poseidon. In the ensuing storm, they lose the map. The crew make their way to the Isle of Lemnos, an island of warrior women, to recover from the experience and repair the ship. The men pleasure themselves with the women while their ship is repaired (except Orpheus and Atalanta) and Jason sleeps with the queen Hypsipyle. Atalanta discovers that the women have killed all the men on the island and are planning to sacrifice the crew. She warns Jason, and the Argonauts flee the island. The crew become rebellious and Jason has Zetes, a young man with brilliant vision, see the stars and find their route to Tabletop Island, where they find Phineus. They are attacked by the Harpies on the island and kill them. In return, Phineus tells them the Golden Fleece is in Colchis. Meanwhile, on Colchis, the princess Medea has visions of the crew and her brother Aspyrtes goes out to find them. Jason finds the ship wrecked and rescues Aspyrtes. They approach the clashing rocks and send a dove through before sailing through themselves. The ship docks at Colchis and Jason goes ashore with Aspyrtes, Castor and Pollux. Hera asks Eros to shoot Medea so she falls in love with Jason. King Aertes wants Jason killed but Medea convinces him to face the Minoan Bull. Medea gives Jason magic oil that protects Jason from the bull's fire-breath. Jason yokes the bull and ploughs a field and sows it with dragon's teeth. Warriors spring up from the earth and attack each other. Medea tells Jason she must go with the Fleece. Aspyrtes overhears this and sends soldiers out after them. The other Argonauts debate whether to leave or not. Hercules, Orpheus and Argos sail the ship around the island to make it seem as if they have left while the others hide in the water and then join Jason and Medea. When the soldiers attack, Medea kills her brother and leads them to the Fleece which is guarded by a dragon. Some Argonauts are killed before Jason sets a noose around the dragon's neck and makes it fall off a precipice. They take the Fleece and sail away from Colchis. Acastus has been wounded and Medea uses magic to heal him. Atalanta confesses she loves Jason but he says he will marry Medea. She has a vision of her father's death and the two kiss. Zeus attempts to seduce Medea but she says she loves Jason, even when he pulls out Eros's arrow. The ship arrives back in Iolcus and Jason learns his mother killed herself, believing him and Acastus to be dead. They rest in the bay and Acastus steals the Fleece and goes into town. Pelias kills him and takes the Fleece. Medea then goes and says he will marry her. Jason and the others sneak into the palace through the secret tunnel. Argos is killed by one of the guards. Pelias tries to kill Jason but is stabbed by his own knife. To cremate the dead Argos, his corpse is burned with the Argo. Then Jason marries Medea and they live happily ever after as King and Queen of Iolcus.
