A fter forty years and hundreds of individual tanks, I am not bored with aquarium keeping. I get the same thrill from opening the plastic bag and releasing a colorful fish into my tank as I did when I was a teenager. I will never be able to say I’ve kept them all, of course, even if I live to be a hundred. Thousands of species of tropical fish have been discovered, and countless others swim anonymously in waters not yet explored.
