About the Author
Betsy Sikora Siino is an award-winning author who has written hundreds of articles and more than two dozen books on animals and their care. She is a former staff writer and features editor for several national pet publications, including Dog Fancy, Horse Illustrated, and Pet Health News. Her books include The Complete Idiot s Guide to Choosing a Pet, books on a variety of dog and horse breeds, You Want a What for Pet?!, and For the Life of Your Dog (written with Olympic Gold Medalist Greg Louganis). One of Betsy s greatest pleasures through the years has been seeing pet owners and prospective pet owners, adults and children alike, seek sound information on the proper care of animals-even small pocket pets like the hamster.
