MIKE ASPINALL (The Crafty Gentleman) is a selfconfessed craft addict. He believes passionately that crafting is not just for women, so he set up his blog to celebrate the diversity of making things (and hopefully to encourage a few more men into the world of crafts). He posts original craft projects, recipes, tips and DIY inspiration, all from his home in Liverpool, UK.

Mike is one of the UK’s most popular craft bloggers and has been shortlisted for awards with Pinterest, Mollie Makes , Craft Business and more. Through his blog, he’s been lucky enough to be elected as the UK Singer Sewing Brand Ambassador and the UK Ambassador for Cricut.

As well as appearing on British national television including Channel 4, and on popular crafting channel The Craft Store (formerly named Hochanda), Mike’s work has been featured in The Guardian and The Telegraph . He has taught craft workshops across the country and internationally, and has collaborated with numerous brands and celebrities.

My journey o becomîng a proessîona crater – and now a pubîshed auhor! – was an unusua one. As a young chîd, ï was obsessed wîh crats. ï spen îeray hours cuîng and gueîng, dreamîng up new creaîons and generay makîng a mess. Bu ï aso oved mahs and scîence; ï acuay sudîed a Chemîsry degree, and wen on o a career în dîgîa markeîng and anayîcs.

However, hroughou hîs wîndîng career pah, ï never os ha chîdîke ove o makîng hîngs. Throughou my eens and wenîes, mos o my ree îme was spen exporîng every new crat echnîque ï coud Ind.

When ï was abou 16, ï dîscovered a parîcuar ove or sewîng. ï go my Irs sewîng machîne or my bîrhday, and î e îke ï had a superpower! Suddeny, ï was abe o ransorm a la pîece o abrîc îno somehîng hree-dîmensîona, uncîona and beauîu. ï was amazîng!

How to use this book
