The Eternal Woman…

Speak to me that I may know thee
in eternal soul connection.
Preface

I have been interested in channeling for many years. In earlier days I used to go to psychics or spiritual healers and the like for sessions. I was looking for answers to my own problems and also wanting to go deeper within myself and connect with that which is real, the Absolute, the Truth, Source, or what we call God. As much as I appreciated the sessions, I couldn’t quite get over the sense that it seemed, to me anyway, that those psychics or spiritual healers were seeing me through their own rose-colored glasses and were not directly revealing true Source. And isn’t this the issue. How can we climb through our own belief structures that we automatically identify with and directly touch true Source? Well, this is not an easy question to answer.

After many years of being involved in spiritual study and channeling, I would like to give my thoughts on this matter. I am not saying they will not be influenced by my own rose-colored glasses. But I will say that this matter in on my heart and soul at this time, why I do not know, and so I present to you the reader Channeling the Eternal Woman .

The Purpose of Channeling

The purpose of channeling is to connect with Source. That is my definition anyway. I mean, what else can it be? We all want to know the what and why of things. It is strange in a way to be living on planet earth, which is swirling around the sun, existing in some vast cosmos, and not having a clue as to the what and why of things. Channeling is a method some are able to use, apparently connecting with some deeper intelligence, to get some answers. Before you dismiss this think of Jesus—was not he channeling God the Father? Isn’t prayer itself a method to connect with Source and discover more about one’s life and its purpose? I don’t want to make channeling to be some great mystery. I think we all do it in some way. Call it conversation or perhaps spiritual conversation. My Father passed away some years ago. Yet, to this day, I feel him in my heart. I talk to him. Sometimes I hear him tell me things. What do we call this? For me it certainly is a deeper connection with him.

Let me turn to one of the books I am using for this writing. It is Finding Enlightenment: Ramtha’s School of Ancient Wisdom —J. Gordon Melton, 1998, and presents, I believe, a more formal definition of channeling for those whom may want it.

“Channeling, a process by which information is accessed and expressed by someone (the channel) from a source other than ordinary consciousness and memory, has an old and honored tradition in the West as well as in ancient Egypt, Greece, and the Near East. Although most contemporary Jews and Christians are loathe to think of the biblical prophets as channelers, the term fits them perfectly. The prophet (or channel) receive words from the Transcendent One (who becomes the channeled entity) and spoke those words to the waiting audience. The New Testament provided what many New Agers consider an almost textbook example of channeling, the book of Revelation. John, who wrote the book, claimed not to be the author. Rather, he asserted, I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia….” (Rev. 1:10-11)

Now, I am not going to suggest to you that all channeling, as it were, is true. We might also need to look at the idea of a Transcendent One to see if any sense can be made out of that. As I mentioned in the Preface, we all seem to have our rose-colored glasses through which we view things, channeling (and a Transcendent One) included. But if we can just take our energy off the idea of channeling for a moment and see it in the broader light of connection, I think this will help. Remember , the purpose of channeling is to connect with Source.
Definition of the Problem

The problem with channeling, as I see it, has to do with the belief systems we hold. Our belief system is the rose-colored glasses we all wear. Our fundamental consciousness is constructed around a view of things. We hold a conception of reality, or what we think reality to be. No one can be conscious without holding a view of how they think things are. It is one’s essential order. This fundamental order is the organizing factor in one’s mind. Each of us hold a conception of reality which is our order/organizing factor which holds our comprehension together. We are speaking of sanity here. We must have an order to our minds which is the anchor of our being. When one speaks of their identity, what they are speaking of is their mental anchor, their organizing filter through which they see and order things. For example, I may say, “I am a Christian.” In this case that whole conception—A one God who sent his only Son…to which, if I believe, I will be saved…is my order which anchors my identity. Without this order/anchor, I would lose my mind. So, this issue of a belief system, conception of reality, order, and identity anchor is not so small. If you think you can just take off your own rose-colored glasses and replace it with another pair of glasses—good luck. We just can’t go around changing believe systems. They are too deeply encoded in our very identity.

One of the great questions is whether or not anyone can view reality without their rose-colored glasses, or what I also call one’s belief system. This is to say, can we see things for how they really are or do we bring in our own bias/belief system to everything we see? In philosophy, the field of epistemology is concerned with how we can know things. Do we know through reason and, if so, is there some kind of “pure reason” that exists prior to our belief systems? Or maybe there is a deeper deductive or intuitive type of knowing. How can we explore that? Through science? Science likes to “believe” it is “objective” and, if you follow its processes and procedures, you will come to clear conclusions. But what would science say about channeling? What would science say about this quote: With all your science, can you tell me how it is that light comes into the soul? This quote is by the great American writer Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862). Channeling goes beyond the scientist reach of investigation, does it not? So does all spiritualism/mysticism. But then, are we left without any gauge to decipher channeling (or any spiritualism)? How can we know if the Seth material channeled by Jane Roberts, for example, has any merit? Now can we know if the belief and faith of a Christian has any merit? Is there a common thread or truth that can tie these things in all across the board from spirituality to science? This is to ask, is there a one truth that all of us by the necessity and reality of our existence know to be so? Or you can ask it this way—is there a one God, Absolute, Given, Capital T Truth, Tao, Ground Zero, Non-Duality, Core Emptiness, Void, Field, Zero-Point, 1st Cause, Central Organizing Factor, Universal Mind, the Observer, the Transcendent One, Conscious Intension, Intrinsic Order, Life Desire, etc., something that is the center-point of the order of reality? “Wow! What is all this? I thought we were just going to channel the Eternal Woman!”

There are many belief systems people carry as their identity. We can also call this one’s frame. It is the frame of one’s reference. Christianity, for example, is a reference frame. It is the order of one’s life. All religions serve this function, East and West. But religions are not alone in this function. There are also non-religious frames, for example, secular humanism. Secular humanism is also belief system. It is just not one centered in “God.” But it, too, serves as the order of one’s identity. So does scientific materialism.
