Introduction

This book is aimed at the general reader interested in testing their medical knowledge.
Each question is given three possible answers but only one is correct. Some questions are easy and can be answered from the basic knowledge of biology learnt at school. Many questions need basic medical facts to answer correctly. When I say facts, the reader should be aware that medicine is a biological science and is not as precise and exact as mathematics or physics. There can be variations in these basic facts concerning the human body. Hence, the questions use words such as “average” “healthy adult”, etc. If there is such one!
In answering these questions if the readers enjoy testing themselves and in the process gain some medical knowledge of general interest, I am glad my effort in writing this book has been worthwhile.
I am grateful to Chris Cowlin and Apex Publishing Ltd for publishing this ebook.
