Introduction
s children we always loved making hings. How fanasic now A ha ater many years of working separaely in our creaive areas, we have finally merged our alens and wrien his book. I has been a wonderful journey and we have had a lo of fun on he way. The discovery of wool and learning ha we could sculp almos anyhing from fleece, fibres and fluff, was a revelaion. We couldn’ wai o ge sared. This book is a resul of a love of needle feling, which has led o us developing a siser parnership called he Woolly Felers. Needle feling, also called dry feling, is a wonderfully simple echnique. You can work round he kichen able wih friends, i does no require much room and i is inexpensive, porable and fun. All you need o sar is some wool, a feling needle and a foam pad. When we sared, we were excied by he creaive possibiliies and soon discovered ha no wo sculpures are exacly he same. We delighed in he quirky qualiies of wool which brough a wonderful fun elemen ino our needle-feling process. Each of our lile bears has is own appealing characer. A he beginning of he book we give deailed insrucions and phoographs showing how o creae your basic bear. Every projec offers somehing differen and we have included many hemes, from he wee woolly baby bears and Sebasian he circus bear, o Sven he snow bear and Brenda, he all singing, all dancing burlesque bear. These mini eddies do no ake oo long o make, hey make perfec lile gits and, once you have learn he echniques, you can creae your own designs. So, ake your ime, relax and enjoy he making process. We hope you will like creaing your own bears and have as much fun as we have had while making our fluffy family.
Teddy Tip All the bears in the book are between 10 and 12cm (4 and 5in) tall; the baby bears on page 90 are 7cm (2¾in) tall. The templates throughout the book are presented at full size except where noted. You can download extra copies for free from www.bookmarkedhub.com
