 INTRODUCTION With the emergence of new state-of-the-art technologies, it is no longer enough to- generate knowledge in order to be a winner; rather, you should be able to protect and apply such technologies. This explains the reason for considering patents the accurate measurement of innova- tion. Logically, if you are unable to generate knowledge and create inventions, it will be impossible for you to establish technology-based companies. For this reason, and due to the importance of this field in terms of Intellectual Prop- erty, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Dictionary of Patent Terms was born, comprising twenty thousand entries. “Green patents” are increasing and deserve to be acknowledged as a phenomenon that meets vital human needs. In addition, the fields of patents governance, patents portfolios management, analysis of patent-related information and the auditing of patents all merit our attention. Other areas include patent-related crimes, in addition to litigation and arbitration of patent disputes. It goes without saying that patent science has witnessed remarkable development along with unprecedented technological advancements. Accordingly, and fulfilling our responsibility as an international group is concerned with the development of
