Dedication
To my wife, Sophia—the real hero, and my underlying source of support, throughout this amazing journey. Thank you for your unyielding patience.
To my two sons, Takehi and Arien—who have taken many long drives with me to and from work, over the years. Thank you for being my company, and my children.
To the Three Wise Men—and Mike Michaelson. Without your encouragement, I may never have forged ahead into the unknown.
Finally, to those like me—the ambitious. The informa tion- seekers. The self-doubters. The brave…and the bold.
Preface
“Reduced down to their essence, the MACHINES are composed of pure information—a repository of knowledge. Which is such a precarious thing, in the hands of the living. Too much knowledge, and the weak are paralyzed by choice; too little, and the foolish jump boldly into the gaping maw of a hungry enemy. But just enough— a little fire from the gods —and it is the great sword of victory, and worth everything to have.
Give me your eyes, children. For this, I would have sacrificed all of you.
It means that much.”
-Apocalypse , Dawn of X
Introduction
I’ve never written a book before…at least not intentionally. As a teenager, I used to write poetry, fueled by the naïve curiosity that is the pubescent years. Another interesting fact about me is that I am also an avid comic book reader. So, my reading, coupled with my love of creative writing, made me believe that I would undoubtedly publish something, someday. However, despite the 17 original pieces I created, and which I hoped to one day publish, I had no target audience, or specific release timeframe. Eventually, I lost that precious collection to circumstance, in my twenties.
This book is different. It stems from my experience; and moreover, a belief in my responsibility to change lives, through teaching. I also possess a deep passion to share truth. As a claims adjuster, I’ve spent hours at various insurance claimants’ homes, on the internet, or on the phone advising and guiding strangers on the claims process, and the means to perform the service duties that I do. I’ve given away so much of this information in the past. Eventually, I realized my potential to reach more people by publishing the stock of my acquired knowledge. Basically, by telling people what I’ve learned about this business over the years, I started to recognize the need, and demand, for information about this industry.
During this quest, I concluded that the difference between what people make, and what they want to earn is occasionally application; but more often, it is information. From there, my responsibility to share what I know became quite clear—to help others avoid the mistakes I have made, as well as to build a network of like-minded professionals who can help aspiring entrepreneurs shatter the perceived barriers to the ladder of wealth.
I’d like to take you on a journey…a journey toward your destiny. Yes, I know; this is a significant and bold statement. And yet, creating a better life must be a big and definite commitment. I hope to be your guide to those infinite possibilities. I want to lead you toward an authentic lifestyle, from what may seem like an impossible starting place. I urge you: don’t rely on your comfort zone. Instead, go beyond what you have always been used to doing—and try something new.
When I decided to put all of what I had learned into a book, I began to develop an approach to my readers, and which I perceived to be most productive—one of mentor to mentee. I didn’t want to be just any mentor, but a compassionate one, while also being straightforward. I’ve always had a passion for disseminating what I’ve learned in this business, to improve situations. The purpose of what I have created is to save you time and the stress of uncertainty, created by entering into a new business sector—without a veteran’s insights on how to skip the learning curves, and unexpected hurdles. Part of my intent behind what you hold today is to be a guide to beginning in the insurance adjusting industry, and to help cultivate your long-term thinking skills. What this book is not is a get-rich-quick scheme, through adjusting.
The most significant intention behind the release of my work is that you, as a reader, will comprehend the passion that fueled it, and utilize the tools within to fulfill your potential. By this, I mean a reality where the income you attain from earning in this industry can allow you to access knowledge, and eventually assets, that will generate an autonomous income for you, and those you care about.
That said, let’s keep going on this road together to develop a new lifestyle of financial freedom through claims adjusting—one of today’s best-kept secrets.
CHAPTER

MY LAST DAY
“A life, some would argue, is a series of problems. There’s no denying the truth in that—but why get LOST in it? Why not RISE ABOVE the truth…and lead a GOOD life? Shouldn’t we all look at PROBLEMS as a CHANCE for us to find…SOLUTIONS?”
-Brian Azzarello , Lex Luthor: Man of S teel

1
My story begins in a small pharmaceutical company, in 2015—where I was passed over for a highly sought-after promotion. This deeply irritated me, and led me to pursue professional credentials—which at the time I believed would earn me the respect of my colleagues. I completed several certification classes, but I was still not eligible for a workplace promotion. After three months of exploring online, not only did I discover the insurance adjusting industry, and began my forty-hour pre-licensing course, but I also left that company, and joined another.
Even before I was offered this last job, I knew that I had an exit strategy in place; and I was willing to go to any length to get out of Corporate America—and into working for myself. I studied after work every day, until I passed the forty-hour course. After failing the state licensing test, I studied whenever I could, including during lunch breaks and while on the clock, until I finally passed—on my fifth attempt. In the six months before my last day, I finished reading Dr. Eric Thomas’s book, “ The Secrets to Success ”, and repeatedly spent time talking with my three friends on the job, analyzing the viability of this opportunity. I ran the numbers with them, in terms of how much I would need to make to not only exceed my current monthly income, but make the risk I had taken worth all my effort. I concluded that I would need to make $2200 monthly to match my existing net income, $4000 monthly to have a cushion, and $8,000 a month or more to live comfortably. In hindsight, the concept of doing or being more than just comfortable wasn’t something I yet understood. We discussed how I spent eight hours making $110 net average daily; yet through adjusting, I had made twice that as a beginner, by working two to three hours or fewer a day.
