he release of the most current version of ISO 9001 now reflects even better the ever changing
worldwide nature of business. Companies globally have, for the most part, moved with these Tchanges. From the original 1987 version to the latest 2015 version, the management standard
continues to add value to organizations.
More than 25 years have passed (and over 155 projects) since I first became aware of, and started
using, the ISO 9000 standards. So much has changed and evolved during this time: the advent of the ISO
14001 and ISO 27001 management standards, the addition and deletion of standards within the ISO 9000
series, and the creation of a host of industrial and sector-specific standards and “reports” based on ISO
9001, such as AS9100 for aer
