Acknowledgement
Any accomplishment requires the efforts of many people and this work is not different. I thank my son Arjun Pandit and especially my wife Rinkal Sharma, whose patience and support was instrumental in accomplishing this task. They both are the rich sources of energy behind my every accomplishment, not only this book. Also, blessings of our parents is also a source behind everything we achieve.
Many examples, stories, anecdotes are the result of a collection from various sources such as newspapers, magazines, other speakers, and seminar participants, over the last two decades. Unfortunately, the sources were not always noted or available; hence, it became impractical to provide an accurate acknowledgement. Regardless of the sources, I wish to express my gratitude to all those who may have contributed in the domain of Time Management and have been inspirational and guiding force considering Time Management and its practices are a universal concept. I must admit, all such people touched me with their learnings and experiences. I only attempted to walk few steps on this journey.
I voraciously read many books, business magazines, blogs, research papers whose learning have touched me significantly over a period. In my writing, genius of all those authors have reflection as they have touched my soul with their exceptional work. Without these writings and references from these thought leaders who paved way for all of us to learn, it would not have been possible for me to write this book, which primarily relied on secondary and tertiary information, analysis, and anecdotal evidence from these many sources. I express my sincere gratitude to each one of them.
Every effort has been made to give credit where it is due for the material contained herein. If inadvertently, we have missed to give credit, future publications will give due credit to those that are brought to the author’s attention.
I must express heartful thank to Mr. N. K. Verma for having faith and patience in this journey. Publisher like N. K. Verma is the real force behind all those authors who attempt to think differently.
— Amit Sharma
The only difference between a rich person and poor person is “How they use their Time.”
Everyone gets the same 24 hours each day. Be it, Albert Einstein, Mother Teresa, Isaac Newton, Narendra Modi. They all had 24 hours a day, just like you and me.
What enabled them to lead such significant lives?
They managed their time well. Yes. “Time Management is Life Management.” Time Management is Key to Happiness & Success.
Until we can manage TIME, We can manage NOTHING ELSE.
- Peter F. Drucker

Authors’ note
“Time management” sounds like a simple concept, but it isn’t. Almost 99% of people in this world struggle to manage their time at its best.
The Value of Time
You may have seen this popular, uncredited message that has widely circulated on the Internet or WhatsApp. To realize the value of one year, ask a student who failed in his annual exam. To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby. To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper. To realize the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of one second, ask the person who just avoided a traffic accident. To realize the value of one millisecond, ask the person who was beaten in race by a Winner in Olympic.
How the math of betterment works out in life, how we can get better with minimal but consistent effort? In his book ‘Atomic Habits’ James Clear has clearly defined an interesting calculation: If you can get 1 percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done. Conversely, if you get 1 percent worse each day for one year, you’ll decline nearly down to zero.
What starts as a small win or a minor setback accumulates into something much more.

1% Better Every Day Calculation 1% worse every day for one year (0.99) 365 = 00.03 1% better every day for one year (1.01) 365 = 37.78
Numerous books and articles have been published on time management. So you might ask, ‘Why another book on the subject?’ At the same time, many time-management programmes have been conducted. But the return on investment (ROI) from a high percentage of these has been quite low. Two factors in particular have contributed to this: They assumed that participants had control of their own roles. Yet most people’s time is governed by other people’s demands and superiors’ priorities can change with head-spinning speed. Many workshops were designed around a package rather than the specific needs of the participants. They focused on the ‘how to’. But what works with one type of personality may not work with another.
Effective time management does not result from the application of an inflexible set of principles or techniques. People are different. Understanding yourself is essential for effective time management. To be able to plan your future, you have to be able to anticipate your behaviour in future situations. This requires self-knowledge.
Many of us know our particular time bandits but to change one’s time-management behaviour one has to do so. Because of changes in the global economy, the need to discard old habits and adopt new and more efficient ones has never been greater.
Time has a value greater than any currency . We may leave our children the money we don’t use in our own lifetimes, but we cannot leave them one millisecond of time. This makes Time Management is an important skill and habit to develop by everyone.
Time is one of the life’s most valuable possessions , as it is something you can never get back. Subsequently, one of the most essential life skills to master is time management. After all, time management is really life management .
Mastering time management does more than just increasing productivity. It can yield important health benefits as well. When time is managed wisely, it minimizes stress and improves the overall quality of your life, which is one of the most worrisome issues in today’s world.
Time Management lay the foundation for the quality of life we all dream of
Delegating the appropriate amount of time to get adequate sleep, maintain a healthy diet and exercising regularly are all essential elements to improve both focus and concentration. Making the time to create a healthy lifestyle will help improve your efficiency throughout the day, allowing for more time to complete other tasks.
