What is BPEL?

The acronym BPEL or the WS-BPEL is an acronym that is beginning to generate too much notice from the people in the business process industry or the BPI. Apparently, BPEL or the Business Process Execution Language is fast becoming the household name for every businessman engaged in online busi- ness and business processing. Business Process Execution Language is a language that is utilized to specifically identify the behavioral pattern that results into either an effective business processes based on the given web service. WS-BPEL is the platform that allowed for the identification of the two major business processes – the Executa- ble and the Abstract process. The roots and origin that BPEL has is traceable from its humble beginning in the shadow of the XLang and the WSFL. The WS-BPEL actually evolved from the XML-based scripting language. BPEL is a language that orchestrate. This means that the business process on BPEL is described based on its system- atic arrangement, proper coordination, and intellectual man- agement of hugely complicated systems of PC, the firm and middleware, and the web services. Most of the times, BPEL is being mistakenly categorized as a choreography language rather than a orchestration lan- guage. BPEL is more of an orchestration language because unlike choreography language, BPEL as an orchestration lan- guage, it clearly specifies the executable process that has inter- change message from other system servers.
