This book investigates the various communication strategies that Qatar has undertaken to enhance its brand image and engage in practices of nation-branding. The role of reputation, identity, and image play an important role in shaping Qatari domestic politics, along with its foreign policies. This book outlines the various strategies that Qatar has taken to enhance its impact on global political and economic development.
Communication strategies are essential for nation-branding, and specifically in the branding of the Qatari identity. Through communication strategies, Qatar introduced a national narrative, and solidified this narrative in the face of adversities such as the blockade. This book addresses Qatar’s communication strategies, throughout the crises affecting Qatar’s national identity, including the blockade, to highlight the various threats to Qatar’s national image, how it managed, invented, reinvented, and solidified its image, and the benefits emerging from Qatar’s communication strategies on a domestic and global level.
