Description

Type-2 diabetes is fast reaching epidemic proportions in the U.S. More that 17 million Americans have been diagnosed with the disorder and an estimated 16 million more are living with the disease, but have yet to be diagnosed. Dr. Shallenberger presents his revolutionary approach to treating Type-2 Diabetes and documents his extensive research, which shows that the root of diabetes is a decrease in energy production and fat metabolism. He describes his patented Bio-Energy Test for measuring energy production, an integral part of diagnosing and treating diabetes. At the core of his treatment protocol is his unique perspective on nutritional guidelines for diabetics for optimal energy production. In fact he explains why the American Diabetes Association's dietary guidelines are nothing more than a recipe for keeping the disease.

Writing a book like this one, with original content and ideas, has been an extremely time-consuming process. More time is spent just in thinking and theorizing than in actual writing, and without the backup and help of many people, this book and the concepts in it may never have had the time to happen.
To my beautiful wife who for so long has put up with the blank looks of a husband whose mind was all too often somewhere else, or who couldn’t find the papers that he has been leaving all over the house because some nameless person put them away God only knows where, I apologize and promise to be better. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your support for my work. You have made me want to be a better man.
To my staff, the ever trustworthy Robin, the incredibly efficient Melissa, the always-there Tracey, the even-tempered Marcy, the unbelievable Jolene, the dependable Patty, and my ever-so-tidy nurse practitioner and right arm Sheila, this book would have been impossible if you guys were not the greatest.
A very special acknowledgment also needs to go out to my editors at Basic Health Publishing, including copyeditor Tara Durkin, whose remarkable talents were responsible for converting an unintelligible manuscript into something I actually enjoyed reading.
To Tiffany Van der Stoker, who after first inspiring me to write this book then proceeded to write the foreword. My long conversations with you really helped to solidify many of the ideas in this book.
And finally to the Sierra Nevadas and the Nameless Force that moves all things and events and without which nothing good is possible, I love you.
Foreword
W OW! I have been on Dr. Shallenberger’s comprehensive type 2 diabetes program for almost two years, and the changes have been nothing short of miraculous!
I am not only bursting with energy, but glowing with vitality and health, not to mention increased stamina and no more sleepless nights. Something else I have been able to accomplish as a result of this program is a complete normalization of my blood sugar levels.
As the Executive Secretary of the Nevada State Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association, I have known Dr. Shallenberger for a good many years. He is and has always been a warrior for the health and well-being of his patients, utilizing natural methods, clean foods, and one’s own body’s ability to heal itself. He studies continuously and works hard to always be ready to help those who are fortunate enough to find their way to his door.
It seems that traditional Western medicine is and has been for years dependant on artificial means, that is, drugs, which usually mask the problem, have side effects, and do not really heal you. More and more people are falling prey to cancer, type 2 diabetes, strokes, asthma, and many other debilitating illnesses. The numbers grow year by year. The old approach of treating the symptoms while ignoring the cause has never been more popular than it is today. This is not to say that there is no place in our society for pharmaceuticals, but the mass overdosing that goes on is uncalled for, and extremely damaging to our bodies.
Dr. Shallenberger, on the other hand, works with your own body to prevent and/or heal the illness. Type 2 diabetes is absolutely preventable and certainly is curable in many cases. (I believe it is totally curable in all cases given a proper attitude and medical help.) Dr. Shallenberger’s methods utilize an innovative test that he has personally developed called Bio-Energy Testing, and an easy protocol, which I am happy to say is responsible for my astonishing success story.
Ultimately, I believe that each one of us is responsible for our own life and our own health. But it’s all too typical that for the first thirty to fifty years of our lives we often take so much for granted. Then, when things begin to go wrong and we start to lose that high energy and invulnerable feeling we once had, and when one memorable day we find out that unbeknownst to us we were busy developing diabetes all those years, then things start to change. We start to wonder what we were doing wrong, and whether we can get back on track and regain the health we lost.
Unfortunately, finding the right information and the right doctor to help is not nearly as easy as it ought to be. We usually go to our regular doctor. The same one we have always gone to. The same one who watched over us while we were gaining weight, getting out of shape, and stressing out, and who all too often just said, “Well, Tiffany, looks like we will need to keep an eye on this.” What kind of logic is that? Who wants to just keep an eye on the factors that lead to diabetes when changing them can prevent the disease in the first place?
And, then, when we finally are diagnosed, instead of addressing the factors that lead to the disease, all too often we just get a drug to take once or twice a day for the rest of our lives. We are told that diabetes is genetic, and that there is nothing else we can do besides take the medications, follow the American Diabetic Association diet, and wait around to see if we develop the possible consequences of the disease, such as amputation, blindness, kidney failure, or heart disease. Not to mention, we are told that decreased energy and vitality is “inevitable.”
I guess I used to be just like the average person who naively thought that all doctors basically did the same thing. That anything and everything that was worth knowing was taught in medical school. And that if it wasn’t taught in medical school it was just folklore. I used to be that way, but not anymore!
Whenever I reflect on the fact that each one of us is given just so many days here on this earth, I realize that I want my days and yours, too, to be filled with energy and glowing with health. As Dr. Shallenberger has often told me, “Tiffany, it’s just a question of going to the well. I’ll lead you there. All you have to do is drink, and the only thing that matters is whether or not you want it enough.”
I definitely want it enough, and I am betting, that you do, too! So step into Dr. Shallenberger’s parlor, so to speak, and thoughtfully read through the pages of this incredible book. The life you save may be your own.
