MARRIAGE



Preface
Marriage is a committed relationship between a man and a woman sanctioned and blessed by God. The biblical standard for marriage, according to the Holman’s Bible Dictionary , is a monogamous relationship in which a man and a woman share a lifetime commitment to each other, second only to their commitment to God. Marriage is not just a contract. Marriage is a covenant.
When one defaults, there is a breach of contract. God made a covenant with Israel. He said He would be their God and they would be His people. They were to be faithful to each other. We know God is a faithful God. God is a covenant-keeping God. We are to be a covenant-keeping people. The same applies in marriage. This manual may be used as a premarital guide and may even be used on jobs. It may also be used to refresh some areas in a married couple’s life before having to go through serious counseling.
