Just as those very words above describe, this book was ultimately brought to life through a mixed bag of big, brutal lessons in the university of life. Trials of virtual destruction, pain, deep betrayals, incredible loss, grief, heartache, heartbreak, to sheer joy, the importance of humour, loyalty, and friendship.
To now.
The present.
The catalyst.
A frightening and fast freefall through the sudden and shocking diagnosis of secondary, incurable, inoperable stage 4 brain cancer, without any proverbial parachute or safety net to catch me.
To then be compelled by an internal force, to step up and fight.
And ultimately sit down and write.
This book is about the power of shifting your perspective and how, even though you may be facing a major life event or challenge in this present moment, that we always, always, always have a choice in how we perceive it and then handle it. You may not be able to control the circumstances but you CAN control how you respond and handle life’s tests, trials and adversities.
I have personally infused these pages and words with strength, power and motivation and of course, so much love, to guide, direct and give hope and healing. If you have been rocked by cancer in some way shape or form, or currently experiencing a life-changing personal challenge, major life event, loss or diagnosis, may you find comfort and guidance but also inspiration that today is a brand-new day.
Anything can happen, if you simply open your heart and mind and trust in the unlimited power of the Divine Creator and the universe.

Chapter 1
THE REDIRECTIO N – the back story and catalyst for change
 
How long is a piece of string?
“Just like there’s always time for pain, there’s always time for healing.” ~ Jennifer Brown
“The scans have come back. They’ve found 2 brain bleeds, one at the back of the neck and another above your left eye, along with significant swelling. There are also numerous clusters found in multiple parts of the brain. I’m sorry to say, you’ve got incurable, inoperable stage 4 brain cancer. It has metastasized from somewhere in your body. Looking at the progression and the vast number of lesions in the brain and body, you have maybe 6 months to live. I’m sorry. There’s nothing we can do. I suggest you call your family.”
BOOM.
You could have knocked me over with a feather.
Completely and utterly shell shocked.
On Friday February 5, 2021, after 10 hours in Emergency, following every conceivable test, feeling like a human science project and with no one around me for solace or support, that was the news and the delivery with which it was given. Blunt. Raw. No softness or tact. I felt as though someone had punched me multiple times in the stomach. I just sat there, virtually frozen with shock and feeling like I couldn’t breathe.
As the Ward Doctor left my emergency bay room that evening I burst into tears in sheer disbelief. My entire world shattered into a million pieces in less than 2 minutes.
And life as they say, from that moment on, was never the same again.
This was the catalyst that literally knocked me on my backside and changed my life forever and in so many ways.
As I sat down to write, I thought to myself, “ Where do I even begin? ” My life has been anything but normal. Huge life altering moments scattered throughout; from the time I was a little to the present moment. My mind kept repeating, “ How on earth do I begin this story? ” Some of it may seem extreme for those whose lives have been virtually effortless and blessed. On the flipside, it may seem like the proverbial walk in the park compared to what life has thrown at you. In a nutshell, mine has been a rollercoaster of emotional warfare on my soul since I was a small child.
However, I now reflect on these experiences with a different perspective and understanding, that perhaps these lessons, losses, tests, and challenges were merely highlighting where I needed to HEAL, FORGIVE and GROW, on a personal leve
