The stresses in life, your career, amid family and non-family relationships can take a mental toll on a leader. Looking to other inspiring leaders within your circle and the world at large can help keep the flame of positivity burning bright in your life (at any age!). Finding ways to gain an optimistic perspective could be one of the best things leaders can do for themselves.
My Monday Morning Motivational Muse, my weekly LinkedIn post, which I started in 2022, has helped many find the spark to kickstart each week. These short, powerful, and often funny reflections, written excerpts, and snippets of personal stories and historical speeches provide a much-needed spark of motivation.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT
F.Y.I.
I am grateful to God for my creative abilities.
I am grateful to my LinkedIn family, whose attention and interest encouraged me, at least I knew I was not “smiling in the dark” . I wholeheartedly thank everyone who read, reacted with a thumbs up, responded with comments, and reposted “ My Monday Morning Motivational Muse” posts.
The compilation of this book was a family affair. Ginikachukwu Almona spent time keeping track of the muses and did the initial work of sorting and pulling them together. Daniella and David Almona put in the time and energy to select and sort out appropriate photos for the chapters. My husband, Obi Almona, provided overarching oversight, giving moral and spiritual support. Kudos to my wonderful family!
I thank the team at Authors Win Academy for assisting with the process. Special thanks go to my dearest friend, Ada Adeleke-Kelani, my alpha and beta reader, for reading through the manuscript and making very many contributions to the structure and story.
Many people, directly or indirectly, have influenced my writing. Therefore, I doff my hat to everyone on my life’s pathway. F.Y.I. (For Your Intrigue) …this is not the end!
There is more to come

FOREWORD
As the kind of person who likes to be up to date, I often start my Monday by getting up to speed on relevant and motivational stuff that I can take with me throughout the week. I look through my LinkedIn post notifications for what might catch my attention.
One day, unexpectedly, I was notified of a ‘My Monday Motivational Muse’ by my dear friend Dr. Chinyere. I was curious about what a muse was, intrigued by the timing. Monday morning is the most stressful of mornings, the foundation of the working week. I paused from scrolling and had a quick read. Then I read it again. Having read her book, I was already her student in this school of life, yet this vitamin shot on a Monday morning was just the kind of motivation I needed.
Through ‘The Muse’, Dr. Chinyere gives us relevant lessons in life, leadership, work, and family. These are lessons she has acquired during her extensive education, her research, and her leadership, some of which come from her many published works.
Chinyere gives us this knowledge in small bite sizes, like strong medicine, on a Monday morning when we need it the most because too strong a dose may be too much to take in.
She offers relevant, useful, and highly applicable advice and lessons that we can implement with ease and effort. She guides us using practical examples from our daily lives, she guides us in simple steps so that we may be able to take those steps. It is often that which we see as simple that we never bother to do, and through that miss our chances at our purpose and greatness.
There is a lived life in each Muse. Here are memories, good and bad experiences, successes and failures, lessons only a life lived with open eyes can teach. I believe that in these anecdotes and tales, Chinyere invites us to learn through all experiences, seeking the purpose and relevance of the experience in order to grow and to teach. There is as much to learn from the traffic jams of Lagos as from the memories of a single black-and-white picture from a day in the life of a parent now deceased.
As an avid reader of The Muse, I look forward to them every Monday, I relish in the lessons of the day with gratitude. As our parents’ generation grows thin in number, I see hope in Dr. Chinyere’s writing. We are the adults now, and we are the ones to bring forward the lessons that life has taught us through generations, lessons passed on to us, lessons we must now pass on to our children. Thank you for picking up the baton, and thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
We are stronger when we are wiser.
I invite you to take your sip of the medicine from the Muse. I wish you enlightenment, hope, faith, strength, healing, and above all, I wish you the courage to take the small daily steps toward your life’s purpose.

PREFACE

Mondays are the start of the work week in most countries, and Monday mornings present the perfect opportunity to decide how your work week will pan out.
You have the power to plan and decide, and you have the power to make it happen. You just must be intentional.
What have you decided for this week?
The text above is the first post in the “ My Monday Morning Motivational Muse” series.
In April 2022, I playfully decided to make a note of (and share) my inspiration at the beginning of every week. I did not think beyond the moment, and I did not envisage the challenges. So, on Monday, 18 th April 2022, I launched out.
As David Dwek rightly summarized, “Mondays are the start of the work week, which offer new beginnings 52 times a year!” I felt really good about the initiative. I had a few reactions and two reposts of my first post. This was the beginning of many months of sharing my thoughts. A lot of the thoughts I shared were reflections or issues on my mind.
Starting a LinkedIn weekly post was one of those creative challenges I took on because I love learning, and sharing my perspective is part of learning. The motivation I gained from articulating and posting My Monday Morning Motivational Muse was worth the effort. It energized me, it was my Monday morning reminder that I could handle whatever the week throws in my direction. And many people have reached out to me to say that they find the posts useful.
After a whole year of posting my reflections, I decided to pull them together
