I was very nervous about jumping out of an airplane. —I USED TO THINK that skydiving was a simple matter of chuting out of an airplane, pulling the ripcord, and hoping for the best. The truth is a lot more complicated. First, you have to know how to jump out of an airplane without killing yourself or others. That’s a complicated process, and it involves a complicated set of movements. -> The fear response is a complex process that involves a variety of physiological reactions. Some are common to most people, while others are idiosyncratic. Mine. I yawn.
