Description

Have we lost our spiritual connection? More precisely, what does it really mean to have a spiritual connection? In this book, the author, Clarence Brown, takes us on a rewarding trip that explains to us how to heal our confusion through the process of self-love. He tells us that love is a series of actions that needs our participation for it to exist. He also discusses feelings of being lost and alone, and talks about the journey back to reconnect to our spiritual selves and a way to hear our inner voice. With many other topics that will ultimately enable us to find our spiritual connection, his thought-provoking book not only helps us discover our personal clarity and understanding but also how to find the willingness to acknowledge the well-being of all humanity.

About the Author
Clarence Brown is a successful businessman who has always been interested in martial arts and yoga. This led him to further investigate the healing arts of the Orient, and to study Eastern Philosophy. He went on to become an acupuncturist and has maintained a clinic in Pasadena California for over twenty years.
While practicing Oriental medicine over the last two decades, he developed a spiritual insight, which brought forth his manuscript Have We lost Our Spiritual Connection? It is founded on the principles in A Course in Miracles .
Dedication
I dedicate this project to all the brothers and sisters of the world, no matter what race, color, or creed, because we are all connected on some level.

I want to say how thankful I am to have been chosen to deliver this message to you. This is a message about recognizing ourselves as spiritual beings, and not just as physical bodies.
This message is about love and our connection to love, which—at its source—is our spirit. My task was to, hopefully, tell you about how we are all connected at the spiritual level. I hope I have been successful in delivering this message. The idea was to allow us to see that love is always right there in front of us, if we can get out of our way to see it.
I take no credit for the concepts given here in this book. I was spiritually given the topics to explore and help us see the clarity and love these topics can bring forth. To my own amazement, I gained proper direction via meditation and observation to bring clarity and understanding to these topics.
You will hear me mention several people who helped me with this project. I am blessed by their patience with me in helping to bring this project alive.
It gives me great pleasure in being able to recognize some of the people who helped with the finishing of this project. It has taken me over seven years to complete this manuscript, and I could not have been successful without the influence and help of these persons.
First and foremost, I must thank my parents for allowing me to become the person I am today. But, I think the greatest influence would have to be my older brother, Adell Emerson, who really showed me what love is and what it should feel like.
Also, I thank my late friend and confidante, Annette Lynch, who allowed me to explore many of the ideas at a very early stage of this manuscript. And then, to the little sister I never had, Marsha Emerson, who always believed in me, through good and bad times.
I appreciate my sons, Masakela and Ya’Ron Brown, who listened to all of my ideas and gave me their feedback. This has always been a validation of their love to me. Also, thanks to my dearest and oldest friend, Mark Young, who has always been supportive of whatever I choose to do. A special thanks to my friend, Massi Abadi, for her authentic input on an emotional and psycho-dynamic level, thank you.
Thanks to my brother, Richard Emerson, for his continued support as I moved along on this long journey. His positive attitude has kept me focused on the task at hand. Much love Rico, for demonstrating what true love represents… thank you.
When I needed it most, God sent me Chris Christensen, my editor and good friend, to help me bring the clarity of this material to you. The person who sat with me week after week to bring forth this comprehensive project. Thank you, I could not have done this without your help. Thanks for being my friend.
I would be remiss if I did not thank a couple of old friends who have been just good supporters of my task in general—Robert Davidson and Dr. Mark Gerard 1 . Thank you for your endless support over the last 20 years.
I would like to acknowledge the help of Tony DiMarco 1 for his guidance through this long process.
Preface
I met Clarence Brown over a decade ago when a friend recommended his acupuncture treatments as a possible determent to the neck and shoulder pains I was having. I remember our first meeting and how comfortable I was with his personal mannerisms. He appeared genuinely concerned without being intrusive. I was mostly impressed with his comprehensive treatment plan. It included explanations of what he would be doing and the effects of acupuncture on my particular problem areas.
As I had additional treatments and conversations, I became aware of the versatility of Clarence’s interests. They ranged from lecturing and leading group discussions to playing the guitar and gardening. He also exemplified his own health maintenance with biking and tennis, and by keeping abreast of current professional and medical information.
When I first started assisting Clarence with the mechanical aspects of this manuscript, I had no idea that the content would be so comprehensive. This is not a book to pick up with intent of skimming or having a “quick read.” Rather, it requires an open mind and the reader’s effort to synthesize the content with his/her own background understandin
