Preface
The only certainty in 2013 is that old people will complain that behaviour of the young is getting worse and that youth will think the same of the old! Doom-struck futurists will be out in force again and politicians will not be able to agree on anything except that they are underpaid.
But in the real world, family life, romance, work and the sports results will be the main concern of most people and problems and solutions in these areas are dealt with here.
The horoscopes displayed are the result of many hours of crystal gazing and meditating in dark rooms. They offer some common sense advice where necessary and only the self-obsessed are subject to some gentle criticism. Enjoy using the book and it is hoped that it will produce some smiles and support to the readers.

Week commencing 7 January 2013
Capricorn
You will be badly let down this week by someone that you’ve known and trusted for years. Naturally you will be upset but before letting fly with both barrels as usual, try and find out the reasons for this out-of-character action. Although you will still have to clear up the mess there be some extenuating circumstances involved.
Aquarius
Your obsession with your appearance may cause you an embarrassing moment this week. It isn’t always essential to have every hair in place and the time you take checking yourself in the mirror is being noticed. Neat and tidy yes, but not obsessively so.
Pisces
Two colleagues will be having a spat this week and each one will ask you to take their side. This is a good time to have a temporary attack of deafness because there is no possibility of you coming out of this business with anything but bruises. Let them sort themselves out!
Aries
You should stand back from your work this week and look at yourself dispassionately. Who is first in every morning and last out every night? Who occasionally pops in at the weekend ‘...just to catch up...’ and who is taken advantage of regularly? Your dedication to your job would be welcomed by many other firms - time to make a move?
Taurus
Your romance is like a roller coaster. Off one minute, on the next! Is this what you really want or would you prefer a more stable relationship? Have a serious talk with your partner about it this week and you may be able to arrange a more relaxed and less frenetic love life that would suit you both better.
Gemini
Money, or the lack of it, raises its ugly head this week and this time you’ve got to face facts. Here’s the golden rule that other people run their lives by - you can’t spend more than you earn! Simple, isn’t it? So this week face up to reality and sort your finances out once and for all!
Cancer
The overcrowding problem at home will come to a head this week and the solution may lie in your hands. There are several options open to you but finding the right one might not be as straightforward as it would first appear. There is a big decision to be made so take your time and get it right!
Leo
The holiday season is at its peak this week and you still haven’t done anything about it. If you want a late one, that’s fine but book it now. If you want a winter one, ditto but don’t drift on as you are now or you’ll end up with nothing!
Virgo
This week will see you move into new territory at work when you will have to over a sick colleague’s workload. You will be surprised at how interesting it is and how quickly you pick it up! This will make you think on whether you should be thinking of a change!
Libra
This week you will be asked by an ex-colleague to provide a reference to hand to a prospective employer. Normally, this wouldn’t be problem but in this case your colleague was unreliable, lazy and incompetent! Tell him that you were probably not senior enough and that he should approach his old boss instead!
Scorpio
You are a sucker for a kind word with a little flattery thrown in and this failing could get you into trouble this week if you are not careful. A friend wants an itsy bitsy favour and you are the only person in the whole wide world who has the brains and strength to carry it out etc etc. Here’s the reality. It’s a huge favour that dozens have already refused to take on and you’re the last resort! Don’t do it!
Sagittarius
This is a week of two halves for you. The first half will be hard work solving problems and putting right a succession of mistakes made by you and your colleagues. But the second half will be quite different with compliments, job satisfaction and a good team spirit winning through.

Capricorn
There are some petty minded people in this world and, if proof was needed, it will arrive this week. You will be surprised and shocked at the level that people will stoop to try and gain the upper hand in a trivial dispute. Both sides will try and gain your support but tell them both to grow up!
Aquarius
An old friend will visit you this week and bring a sack full of happy memories. Towards the end of the meeting you will sense that there is a purpose behind this unexpected encounter but it will not be brought into the open. Although you enjoyed it you will a little bit uneasy so be cautious if a second meeting is proposed.
Pisces
A minor drama at home again this week but this time keep your involvement to a minimum. You’ll be asked to take sides and make Solomon-like judgements on the matter but you know from previous experience that it will be ignored, so for the first time say ‘no thank you’ and leave them to it.
Aries
Activity on the romantic front has been slow for a while now but this week it will change with a vengeance! An old flame and a new travelling companion both arrive on the scene and you will eventually have to make a choice. But in the meanwhile, enjoy the company of both!
Taurus
You have been feeling isolated lately at work as pressure of business has seen you cut off from colleagues who normally provide a little light relief and support. This week will see the situation return to normal and you will be able to start enjoying your work again.
Gemini
An ageing relative is acting up and causing distress amongst his nearest and nearest. Things take a turn for the worse this week and your help is needed. Your experience is this area is nil so avoid being the decision maker. This sounds like a job for professionals and limit your input to calling them in.
Cancer
This week you will hear about a new product that could benefit your work enormously. Try and find out more about it (probably via Google) including its cost and identify the benefits and potential savings it could bring to your firm. Draw up a brief report with your name written all over it and casually mention to one of your senior colleagues and see what reaction you get. But always keep a copy of the report in your own possession!
Leo
There is talk again about your firm closing down and moving to a new location and this week you will find out that there is a little more substance to it than usual. You must look after your own interests in this situation so your first action to take is to appear to be interested in making the move. Your second action is to place your name with local employment agencies in your area as a back stop in case the move does materialise. It’s called an each way bet!
Virgo
You will receive an invitation this week that will be intriguing and worrying! Why me, will be your first reaction and then you will begin one of your regular trips to fantasy island. Either accept it or don’t. If you do, just relax and watch things develop.
Libra
This week your old boss will contact you privately and will want to meet you. Although you left on fairly good terms the thought of going back there to work is not too appealing. Contact one of your ex-colleagues in confidence and try and find out what is going on there before the meeting takes place. And if money would tempt you back, decide how much it would have to be before the meeting.
Scorpio
A tricky situation will develop at work where friendships, tribal loyalties and ambition will combine to produce a web of intrigue. You’ll be on the fringe of this nonsense so keep your head down and, if sucked into it, tell the truth, the whole truth etc
