Preface
Calling all Pioneers
Pioneers are courageous souls. Throughout the history of Mankind, it has been the pioneers who have braved new territory, proposed new theories, challenged conventional ways, said "why not," and created the pathway for others to follow. Pioneers do not fear their next challenge – they look forward to it. And, pioneers never stop pioneering. When they have created that pathway, pioneers forge a new pathway. When the seeds they have planted begin to sprout, they begin a new garden. When someone is seeking, pioneers are the teachers who appear, the ones who put themselves out on the frontline. Pioneers who do what they do, more than believe, they know a higher Truth. Pioneers inspire others to go beyond the everyday responsibilities and duties to see and be that higher Truth.
We honor the lives of all the pioneers – past, present, and future, who have dedicated their lives to enhance and advance our knowledge of Mother Earth. Our planet would not be what it is today without the courage, insight, and determination of the pioneers who have ever graced us with their presence on Mother Earth!
Our thanks and loving gratitude to each of you. The elders amongst us have witnessed several important game-changing events in history - they saw man’s first walk on the Moon. This event created a major transition in the consciousness and evolution of Mankind.
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, psychiatrist and author, opened the door to new thought on the aging and death process and the advancement of the eternal truth that life continues after the death of our physical body – another major leap in the consciousness and evolution of Mankind. I was young when I first read her book and remember wondering if my life would narrow as I grew older. I could not imagine it. Now, with eighty years on the horizon, I do not wonder anymore. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross’ views on aging are accurate. I have watched it happen in my own life and appreciate the knowledge that Elizabeth Kubler-Ross gave to prepare me for what happens to all of us. I no longer wish to travel to far off countries that Marshall and I often did.
I enjoy being home, reading and writing. Even trips to the local Walmart sometime sound overwhelming. However, only my physical world has narrowed. My awareness has expanded on a broader definition of life. Marshall and I soar to the highest of frequencies to higher resources.
Lily, a Pioneer of Emerging Consciousness
Pioneers in both the Third and Fourth Dimensions are hard at work this very moment to bring greater ease of living to all of us. They are at work to overcome any test that challenges them. After all, pioneers have traveled to the moon and back. They have walked in space. They have tamed the Wild West and discovered gold. They stood tall in the face of prejudice and injustice, written symphonies, painted the Mona Lisa, and wrote the Declaration of Independence.
The list of advances and progress that pioneers have made is endless. There are many advanced thinkers in our world who have been educated by the best sources in our world. However, the next generations of pioneers are now infants and more are coming to lead the way to our next leap in consciousness. They are choosing to return to the University of Mother Earth to be teachers instead of students. They will be inspiring new heights in awareness and driving change as Mankind ascends to a greater and higher consciousness.
Introduction
My husband, Marshall Smith, has been in the Afterlife for nearly two years now. He is on our Mountain, our destination in the Afterlife, the place we planned together.
We had already decided to write this book based on my brother’s experiences in the Afterlife. However, we did not expect that Marshall would be contributing his direct experiences in the Afterlife or that I would be documenting his experiences and insights. I must admit, it took me awhile to realize the valuable importance of this extraordinary opportunity to communicate his experiences.
Death does not separate you from your loved ones. If you choose, you can maintain an active relationship with your loved ones in the Afterlife. Love is the foundation of that connection. This much-needed book not only explains this truth but offers simple, direct, and practical ways to make that connection and maintain those relationships. It is a very different kind of documentary, a profound documentary that shares detailed experiences of dying, death, transition, and existence in the Afterlife – actual experiences!
This book also shares what you can do now, while still here on Earth, to prepare and plan for your transition, if you choose to do so. It is a useful guide. It is a book filled with hope and inspiration in knowing that life and relationships continue beyond our time on Earth.
Many sections of this book contain Marshall’s words. Some information comes from his writings; much comes from his sharing with me in our times together in open communication. This is the method of connecting and communicating with your loved ones in the Afterlife that we share in this book. Even while in the Afterlife, Marshall has greatly influenced this book’s content and structure. For example, in the early stages of writing this book, Marshall requested that I invite people to ask him questions about dying. These questions and Marshall’s responses can be found throughout the book.
I know you will be inspired by Marshall’s experiences and the practical information and processes shared. This book will enable you to release your fears about dying and know that you can be with your loved ones in the Afterlife.
With much love,

Chapter One
The Unexpected Happens
The Night Before
On January 18th, 2018, as we were falling asleep, Marshall, my loving husband of thirty-three years, asked me a question. I found this odd. I was always the one who asked questions after we had already said goodnight; questions to which Marshall would always respond, "Sleep, my love. We’ll talk about it tomorrow." But that night he asked a question.
"How do you think the book should start?" he asked.
He wanted to know how we should begin the book – our book, the book we had been discussing for months, the book that had our creative and intuitive minds flowing, the book about the Afterlife and how to plan your "life in the Afterlife." I thought about it for a moment then, I told him that I thought it was best to begin the book with my brother’s story. My brother, Fred, who I loved dearly, had crossed over October 12, 2014. Marshall loved my idea.
It seemed only natural to begin there. Our experiences with Fred were really the catalyst for the book.
Fred had been ill. Off and on during his illness, we had conversations about the Afterlife, what we understood it was like, wondering where we would go when it was our time. So, after the death of Fred’s physical body, Marshall and I began a series of open communications with him.
Fred is my only sibling. He was ten years older than me and my hero, and he loved his little sister. So, when Marshall and I set out to find him "on the other side," I let my strong love for him guide us to his location. Fred must have been drawn to a memory he had as a teen-ager because we found him with Warren, his best friend in high school. The two of them were in what looked like our old neighbor’s field.
Growing up, Fred and I lived in the country so there were only a few houses nearby. Warren’s family had a farm near our home. My brother would always help Warren milk the cows, feed the chickens, or do other chores that needed to be done. When I first saw them, they were both sitting on top of a hill under the apple tree where they had spent many good times together.
Over the next six months, Marshall and I visited Fred many times, had many conversations with him, and helped him in his acclimation. In the process, we learned a great deal including, intimate details about what happens after the death of the physical body. Although we had helped many people cross over after the death of their physical bodies, we had never continued contact, nor
