#1

Your body is capable of so much more than pain, exhaustion, blame, and confusion. When you understand your own biology, you are able to help your body heal and use that body to achieve the life you want.

#2

Trust me when I say that taking care of your body not just to get well, but to have the most fulfilling life you can have, is a sweet deal. It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through up to this point; I understand because I’ve been there.

#3

I was twelve years old when I started predicting the order in which my friends would get their periods. I was fascinated by the changes happening to my body, and I was excited to embrace my first signs of womanhood.

#4

I was a thick, androgynous child with thick, untamable hair. I wasn’t sure if I was sick or not, since none of my doctors could figure out what was wrong with me. I eventually got my period only twice a year.

#5

Around the age of twenty, I went to see a gynecologist and had a transvaginal ultrasound to check if I had Stein-Leventhal disease, a condition that is characterized by multiple cysts on the ovaries. I was told that the only cure was to have my ovaries removed.

#6

I was told that I would have to rely on myself to find a solution to my condition, and that I should consider other meds to control symptoms. I politely told my doctor that I would research other options for my healing and care instead of taking her advice.

#7

I visited a variety of doctors and therapists over the course of three years, trying to find a solution to my acne. I even tried a primarily carrot juice diet that made my skin orange.

#8

I continued my research into the endocrine system, and learned that it functioned according to a set rhythm. I decided to focus on food as my medicine to help resolve my symptoms, as I felt that it was the key to fixing the endocrine system.

#9

I learned about the four fields of functional medicine, endocrinology, chronobiology, and micronutrients, and combined them to create a protocol that women could use to make the best choices for their reproductive and overall health every single day.

#10

I got a job as a marketing director for an online startup in Manhattan, and while I was working there, I went to school and received training to be a health coach. My goal is to help patients overcome hormonally based gynecological issues.

#11

I began seeing clients, a few at first, then a dozen, and then more than I could handle given my schedule and workload. I quit my job and began treating women with the five-step healing protocol.

#12

The only way your hormones can achieve balance is if your body does the job, and only if you safeguard and nourish it every day to optimize endocrine function.

#13

The first step of the protocol requires you to stabilize your blood sugar. Once you do that, you can start to see the positive effects on your well-being.

#14

I want you to feel as if you’re sitting down with me at my FLO Living Center in personal one-on-one health-coaching sessions. In these sessions, I will guide you to think about what you’ve learned in a constructive, digestible, and individual way.

#15

If you don’t believe that your body can change into a healthy state, recognize that you may have a very powerful script in your head that tells you that change isn’t possible. If this is the case, start replacing negative thoughts with positive ones.

#16

The statements above are examples of the difficulties women face when trying to conceive naturally. They are all statements about the difficulties women face when trying to conceive naturally.

#17

The latest research shows that a woman’s menstrual health is a gauge of her vitality and overall health throughout her life. Thus, it makes sense that some of my patients with chronic symptoms were well on their way to obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, infertility, premature aging, and gallbladder disease.

#18

When you don’t know how your body functions, you can’t make informed decisions about how to treat your hormones when they're on the fritz. Many women spend lots of time researching their symptoms online, but have no proper knowledge of how to take care of themselves.

#19

Women are conditioned to believe that their bodies are shameful and disgusting. We are made to feel that female intuition is fickle. We suspect that our energy is unstable. We disconnect from our own bodies and our deepest sense of knowing.

#20

Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that can interfere with the production, release, transport, metabolism, or elimination of the body’s natural hormones.
