In this article, the author expresses how spiritual healing comes about, that is to say, what is the basis that makes for its realization?Author Bio: Christopher Alan Anderson (1950 - ) received the basis of his education from the University of Science and Philosophy, Swannanoa, Waynesboro, Virginia. He resides in the transcendental/romantic tradition, that vein of spiritual creativity of the philosopher and poet. His quest has been to define and express an eternal romantic reality from which a man and a woman could together stand in their difference and create a living universe of procreative love. Mr. Anderson began these writings in 1971. The first writings were published in 1985. On a personal note, when Mr. Anderson was asked to describe the writings and what he felt their message was he responded, "Spiritual procreation. Mankind has yet to distinguish the two sexes on the spiritual level. In this failure lies the root of our problems and why we cannot yet touch the eternal together. The message of man and woman balance brings each of us together in love with our eternal other half right now."

Spiritual healing is a healing of o ne's soul. We might say it i s the dee p est healing there is, a h e aling o f o n e 's whole e t ernal being. Religions, in their pur su it of salv at ion, actually are attempts b y one to h eal one's soul. By soul I mean that eter n al part of onese l f.

The philosopher Bene d i ct Spin o za (1632–1677) once said, “We fe e l and know t hat we are eternal.” So spiritual healing is the healing of o ur eternal selves. Phil o sophies, a n d maybe even science too, in a way, are a t tempts to heal ourselves, in this ca s e through an understan d ing or illumination. Henry Da v i d Thoreau (1817 –1862) once said, “ With all your scien c e , can you tell me how it is that li g ht comes into t he soul?” Wow, good question. We need to go deeper. Of course t here is psy c hology which is m o re the study of the mind. There is al s o the growing psychic are n a whe r e, it is thought, o ne, perhaps through a channel, is in di r ect communication with the spiritual d o main. All of these endeavors are attempts by one to heal the disconnect or im b alance in one's ( e te r na l ) soul. Unfortuna t ely, these a tte m pts today f a ll short of a true spi r itual healing.

I would like to give an example of an aspect of life that could use spiritual healing. I came across this in the local newspaper years ago. I am leaving t he names o ut, of course. Can you feel the c alling?

This is n o t to suggest t h at only passing of life issues can use spiritual healing. Every issue can as every issue is an i ssue of one's eternal life. Every issue is an issue o f one's eternal balance (or lack thereo f ) in the universe. Every hurt (in n e r p a in), addic t i o n, fear, victimi z ati o n, hate, d e s pera t i on, f a ilure, drea d , dis-ease, et c ., all premised in our own eternal imbalance. So s omehow we need to find our eternal bala n ce.
