Description

If you are able to place yourself in one of the following situations or something similar, color meditation will benefit.

“I’d rather be in a different state of mind than deal with all the stress I’m going through, so I self-medicate.”

“I get panic attacks and anxiety and it becomes hard for me to breathe.”

“My anger is out of control!”

“It’s hard for me to concentrate.”

Color meditation is a conscious activity focused on relaxing the mind and body through breathing.

It clears the mind from on-going thoughts and outside distractions.

Nature has provided everything we need. Most importantly is the air we breathe.

Breathing in color is for the spirit, just like food is for the body.

"The activities are à wonderful bonus!

If you take your time and answer the questions openly and honestly you really can tap into your inner self, I know I did. Thank you." YaYa B.

We are the sun, water, earth and air.

Thank You to Chi, my daughter.
Chi, I am grateful that you took the time to contribute to the SWEA Tree Color Meditation book.
Your beautiful flowing Haikus at the beginning of each nature image, captures the essence of each color.
Reading them places me in the moment you are expressing and helps me with my own meditation.
You are definitely Chi!
Introduction
Colors have always amazed and inspired me.
As a little girl, my connection with the golden rays coming from the sun in the boundless blue sky mesmerized me for hours each day. I’d place my five-year aged body on a pile of roof tiles that sat in the backyard of my sitter’s home and follow the sun. It was especially spectacular when clouds covered the sun, only to see it break through once again with all its warmth and beauty.
My grandmother was a quilter.
She’d sew for hours on the back porch of her and my grandfather’s shotgun home. My special place was near the end of the porch, busying myself with my collection of glass dolls made from Coca Cola bottles. Every once in a while, I’d see my grandmother look at me from the corner of her eye to make sure I wasn’t scooting too close to the edge. Grandmother would be watching me and I would be watching her. Only, my watching her was to see if I could quickly take a few pieces of the colorful fabric swatches from her box. When I look back at our subtle communication, I think she knew that I wanted some of her swatches for my glass dolls.
One day, I finally gathered the courage to get me a few pieces of her swatches. The pieces I wanted were openly tucked to the side, as if they were waiting for me. This particular afternoon, grandmother didn’t come to the back porch as she usually did. Instead, she went and sat on the front porch. If you can visualize the architectural style of a shotgun house, you would immediately know that I could peep and see if she changed her mind and decided to come to the back porch and work on her quilts.
