DEDICATION
“To my grandfather, the late Stacy Vernon Higley, who spent much of his life in search of treasure. He had the foresight to pass down his ideas and equipment”
Foreword
By D. Wallberg the Author of the book “The Last Story; The Messenger”
Deep in the heart of the west there is a man with a burning passion and desire for adventure who is one of the last of his kind. Bart Jeppesen is a Treasure Hunter who has the background skills of that of the early pioneers whom first explored this country. He has the keen eye to be able to spot signs that others in the past had over looked, and the patience to sit or walk about studying the land looking for the many signs or clues that were left behind by the people of the past.
He also has the amazing gift or talent to read the signs or just simply think as the people did hundreds of years ago which generally leads him to yet another clue that helps him unravel the great mystery behind the markings or signs left behind by the people who once inhabited or crossed this land.
There are very few of these types of men left in this country like old Bart who still believes and has that great burning desire in their hearts to prove there is still something out there that has yet to be discovered that somehow mankind has over looked. These types of men are the true Treasure Hunters of the world of today who not only dedicate their time, money and their efforts but their total devotion to finding the hidden Treasures and unraveling the mystery behind them. These men spend countless hours researching the writings of the past, searching for the small clues that might identify the objects they have found and might aid them in unraveling the mystery as to who might have left the things behind for someone like Bart Jeppesen to find.
It was near the end of the year of 2011 when I had the privilege to meet Bart Jeppesen in Salt Lake City, Utah where we spent some time swapping stories and adventures we had in the past while searching for Treasure. As he explained his findings it didn’t take me long to recognize that Bart had a very unique gift for finding Treasures. As he took the time to show me some of the artifacts/items he had found, he also went into great detail as to what they were and how they managed to create a picture for him, such as a map or the layout of what once was a small village or large camp site that had once been occupied for a considerable amount of time. At This time I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and how it came to be that I met Bart Jeppesen.
I am D. Wallberg the author of the book “The Last Story; The Messenger”. The book is primarily about an Inca Warrior I had discovered several years ago that is located on the Virgin Mountains in the Southeast corner of the State of Nevada near the city of Mesquite, Nevada. While researching for the lost Inca Treasure along with some of the others like the Aztec Treasure and the Lost Dutchman mines I was also promoting my book on various Treasure Hunting websites when I had received an email from Bart Jeppesen asking a few questions as to what I had discovered which later lead up to the time we finally got together to compare notes and ideas as to what we both were working on and how we had managed to discover the things we did.
We are both men who have a lot in common and most of all that great desire and passion that is burning inside to seek the truth behind the items left behind from the people of the past. Whether we find a simple object with little value or a small stash of gold, silver, or gems worth a small fortune, it’s not the value that keeps men like Bart and myself going, it’s the challenge to solve that one more mystery that has managed to slip through time. Treasure hunters like these in my eyes can also be known as time travelers, men who have the ability to take their thoughts back in time while in the areas of what was once the site of the past and now is the site of the modern world of today. Visualizing what had taken place hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Recognizing the facts that the people of the past were those who had great respect for the land and were only passing through leaving only a small sign or mark or two to allow those who might follow from the future find the route path they had taken.

Introduction
I guess I got my start the day I found an unusual set of crosses carved into a cliff face many years ago. Then from that point on, I was on the hunt for more. I spent endless amounts of hours reading and researching. During these years I also photographed everything I found. I traveled to many states gathering and comparing these finds. Which in turn created quite a collection created from findings in the field. From this massive amount of information gathered from many places far and wide, I have been able to connect the common factors found within these sites. This is what makes my books very unique. I know that I can speed up the success rate of each person in the field.
Originally, I had written only one book on symbols and signs. It was more of my journal and notes. But as I began to put it altogether it occurred to me just how much information and thousands of photographs were involved, along with the massive amount of work it would consist of. So it was agreed that this book should be divided. In doing it this way, I am able to teach the reader in a progressive manner from book to book.
