Introduction


The book SNAPSHOTS IN TIME, introduces the reader to the poetry of Kenneth R. Stephens, which is presented in two different parts.

Part One introduces the reader to Roy L. Stephens, the Young Cowboy From Oklahoma, as viewed through the eyes of his adopted son, who is the author.

Part Two. The author honors his birth mother and his American Indian heritage. This adopted child true to his original birth certificate adopts the American Indian name Bobcat which is a derivative of his pre-adoption name. Through a series of poems and articles the author pays his respects to his birth mother and her American Indian people.

RACHEL, to my mother

A mother’s love is stronger than iron.
A mother’s love is worth more than fine gold.

The sacrifices of a mother can never be
repaid unless one sacrifices himself the same way.

A mother’s love is the highest honor
one can receive.
No other honor is worthy to compare,
no other honor can one conceive.

A mother is a gift from God, you see,
a precious gift to unlock,
and love is the key!
