Preface
We introduced the first edition of Orthopaedic Surgical Approaches with the quote that many attribute to Napoleon Bonaparte: a picture is worth a thousand words. All of the authors and editors of the second edition spent a great deal of time and effort improving these illustrations and creating new pictures that have increased their word value exponentially! Most of the readers are familiar with our competition, and because of its legacy it was difficult to break into the market with a new surgical approaches textbook.
