A book that learns a lesson from historic social evolution to establish what common mindset and collective consciousness we have within the world today that needs to be used to plan our collective survival and well-being for the future.
Preface
Thank you for taking the time to read this book. I hope it has been recommended by someone you admire or respect. I hope the reviews or the blurb has sufficiently inspired you to seek further knowledge and awareness within its pages. Whether your interest is in politics or philosophy, human nature or history, or simply in the future and the well-being of the human race, then I am sure you will find all the answers, the fulfillment and the satisfaction you are looking for right here in this book.
I am convinced that I’ve created, gathered and combined all the right solutions to our national and global problems when it comes to wealth division, justice, political access, resource distribution, ecological sustainability and many other issues. I’ve built those solutions into one single campaign with an underpinning politically philosophical viewpoint to bring about change for a better future. It is my conviction, and motivation for writing this book, that despite all the wrong in society and in the world, we have a utopian model of existence well within our grasp if we could collectively agree upon its structure, its motives and its ambitions. It’s simply a case of realizing what we already have in place, what we want from our lives and from society and then what simple changes we have to make to realize that utopian goal.
Where are my manners? I should introduce myself. I’m Reggie Adams. Not an academic, nor a politician, just a social and political deep thinker with what I believe to be something new to offer the world. More than anything I’m a concerned citizen, much the same as you are, deeply worried about what’s going on in the world and where our current course is leading us and perhaps where the solutions lie. I’m rather well read and have studied and researched the subjects within this book thoroughly. I am only a man of the world, a 47 year old who has lived a little and been involved with many walks of life and different situations from ordinary working class family life to big business and world affairs. My career has been in business management as well as with the arts and entertainment and a brief spell in teaching. I have always had a keen interest in society, its rules and its development. It’s only in the last few years that I have afforded myself the time to do the research, to think it through and to try to find some solutions that would benefit all of us.
I believe I bring quite a different perspective to political philosophy than you are likely to see from the usual channels and it is this perspective that makes this book unique. I am a deep and creative thinker and I like to solve problems. It has been my main motivation for some time in work, business, my artistic pursuits and in life in general to create solutions. This book is the culmination of a lifetime of discovery and analysis of social and political situations and attitudes across society and around the globe. I am motivated to present this book because I feel I have the solutions that others have overlooked or not given time to. Too many people have written about the problems and too few attempt to think through the solutions. I’m part of the internet generation connected to a world of information. Affording myself the time and the means has given me a special opportunity to provide the solutions that are out there but not yet brought into one movement or one philosophical position.
The result is a ‘tell it like it is’ cultured analysis of shared 21 st century moral and ethical encodings which run through all truly modern and liberal people of the world. This book is not just some liberal critique it is a complete conclusion and it is a model for a social and political framework designed to improve our society and our world in very practical ways, one that recognizes the oneness of humanity and the essence of the human spirit. It is a ready-made Utopian design based on the collective morality we share right Now. You may see where the name might have come from. This book proposes a constitution for Britain, a social contract between citizen and state, a core philosophy as a unique viewpoint, a new economic theory for our prolonged survival and well-being and a political structure truly led by the will of the people and it also lays down the groundwork for social policy for the type of society most of us want. I believe that not since the founding fathers or Marx and Engels has such a complete document and justification been presented to the world. It is what the world has been waiting for and in that sense is already overdue.
Each idea I put down here does have a continuous thought process so I hope you will follow my thoughts and ideas as I write them. I have tried to structure each section of each chapter into full arguments with concluding ideas. I promise you that they will lead to worthwhile overall conclusions and a positive outcome after chapter 4 and they will ultimately construct a vision and a practical platform for how we can all go about improving our world and our lives, so there is an overall method to my madness. Some of the language I use may touch upon our shared spiritual history but I want to assure you that all my conclusions are very much grounded in the real world and not some mystical cultish ideas. I hope that you will soon see that my motivation to write this book, however ambitious, is to help bring about a better world for us all and on this single point my writings are completely honest, sincere and genuine.
This book started when I returned to London from working overseas. I have lived and worked abroad a few times and I find it helps bring a better analysis of our domestic society when you look at it with fresh eyes as an outsider who also knows it from the inside. The economy had slowed, work did not flow in. I had a little time on my hands. I started watching the news programs and discussion programs like Question Time, Newsnight and The Wright Stuff in the daytime. I felt that there was a great amount of unrest in the world and that we have become no closer to finding the solutions during my lifetime. Sure, more stuff has happened, but it seemed as though no conclusions or improvements were being achieved even though there was more and more focus on the problems. I was completely alone for days on end and free to delve into deep thought with just my TV and internet to connect me with the outside world. I had absolutely no distractions. I started toying with suggestions to social problems and thinking through ultimate positions on concepts of morality and justice. This had always been my interest but on this occasion I actually started forming and writing down those ideas. My intent was to blog or post things of more interest than the usual chatty stuff I was seeing on my social networks. I found though that the answer to every social problem seemed to go much further than superficial detail or a surface level quick-fix. As well as this it was all very well realizing a better way of behaving in society but what difference would it make if there was no policy change as a result of this deep and applied thinking. It struck me that something fundamental was wrong with the core of how we politically organize things that actually prevented any real intelligent progress that could relate to improved social well-being for all. The system actually prevented any widening of contributors to solution finding and this could only ever make a situation worse rather than better.
From my experience in business I know that you need the right business structure suited to the objectives in order to best reach your goals efficiently. You need the ‘right tool for the job’ and so it led me to believe that the way we currently politically organize things is based on flawed and antiquated ideas from a bygone age and a long gone mindset while we are operating in a 21 st century world. The main question that kept coming back to me was ‘liberally minded people on the internet seem to know what is right and wrong and are in a positive and progressive world, so why is it so difficult for our political structures to right the wrongs in society and in the world? What’s stopping them? Where is their motivation or incentive?’ It also struck me that there seemed to be no ethical core or moral sentiment that underlined the politic
