Description

Dr. Christopher Toote has produced a compilation of Bible study lessons that is a resource of accurate, clear, contextual, practical, and applicable outlines. There is fluidity, flow, and coherence from the introduction to the conclusion. Transitional ideas and thoughts move seamlessly. The topics are thought-provoking, thematic and contemporary without losing the Biblical originality and intent.

It is evident that Dr. Toote methodically and meticulously studies the context from the historical, geographical, socio-cultural, political, and theocratic perspectives. He approaches each topic by exploring the original language, identifying and studying key words carefully, understanding and referring to surrounding passages and chapters to get a good, comprehensive, accurate grip of context and meaning. Dr. Toote strongly supports a genuine, unbiased, exegetical approach to Bible study. This approach encourages hard work, diligence, scholasticism, exegesis, and understanding. It gives the diligent student the ability to detect erroneous teachings and materials, even in commentaries, publications, and reputable theological literature.

"50 Powerful Bible Study Outlines", Vol. 1 is primarily expositional and exegetical in form. However, several lessons are more thematic and systematic in structure and composition. The topics cover a wide spectrum: Evangelism, Faith, Family, Followship, Ministry, Pentecost, Power, Prayer, Relationship, Reformation, Salvation, Success, Warfare, Word, and Worship.

As you study these Bible lessons, you will not only learn about God and the things of God - you will encounter God. You will experience God. There will be a transformational process that will happen in the life of the Bible student. Digging into the well of God's Word, you will draw bucket loads of precious treasures that have eternal value. The investment in these treasures will yield priceless dividends.

FOREWORD
“ Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn ’ t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth. ” 2 Timothy 2: 15 (CSB)
This compilation of Bible study lessons is a resource of accurate, clear, contextual, practical, and applicable outlines. There is fluidity, flow, and coherence from the introduction to the conclusion. Transitional ideas and thoughts move seamlessly. The topics are thought-provoking, thematic and contemporary without losing the Biblical originality and intent.
It is evident that Dr. Toote methodically, meticulously and diligently studies the context from the historical, geographical, socio-cultural, political, and theocratic perspectives. He believes that the Scriptures must be studied firstly in its purest form and approach before engaging outside research and support materials. This approach to Bible study mitigates the temptation of laziness, teaching error, eisegesis, and plagiarism. This approach encourages hard work, diligence, scholasticism, exegesis, and understanding. It gives the diligent student the ability to detect erroneous teachings and materials, even in commentaries, publications, and reputable theological literature.
“ 50 Powerful Bible Study Outlines ” , Vol. 1 is primarily expositional and exegetical in genre.
These Bible studies will elucidate, educate, and stimulate further research for all who have a passion for God and knowing the things of God. This compilation of outlines expresses the Scriptures which teaches total dependency on the teaching of the Spirit of God, “ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. ” 1 Corinthians 2:10 (KJV)
As you study these Bible lessons, you will not only learn about God and the things of God - you will encounter God. You will experience God. You will breathe God-ness. There will be a transformational process that will happen in the life of the Bible student. We are all perpetual Bible students. Digging into the well of God ’ s Word, you will draw bucket loads of precious treasures that have eternal value. The investment in these treasures will yield priceless dividends.
As a result of your study of these rich Bible outlines, I pray that your spiritual walk with God will be deepened, your fellowship with Believers will be strengthened, and your social interaction with the lost will yield the introduction to the Savior.

PREFACE
“ Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly diving the word of truth. ” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
σπούδασον σεαυτὸν δόκιμον παραστῆσαι τῷ θεῷ ,  ἐργάτην ἀνεπαίσχυντον ,  ὀρθοτομοῦντα τὸν  λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας . 2 Timothy 2: 15 (TR)
This book, 50 Powerful Bible Study Outlines , is a compilation of Bible Study outlines that encourages the serious Bible student and teacher to follow the expressed intent and didactic guidance of 2 Timothy 2:15. The author challenges the serious student of the Word of God to prayerfully take time to diligently and studiously approach the sacred Scriptures. Following is a brief, simplified, exegetical explanation of 2 Timothy 2:15, with the sole intent of displaying the importance of unpacking and clearly explaining the precious, eternal Word. Each word will be explored in Greek, which is the original language in the writing of the New Testament. The words will be parsed to get a better understanding of their usage in the text. This is an exercise that will demonstrate the criticality and primacy of “ rightly dividing the word of truth. ” Studying God ’ s Word is a serious charge and must never be taken lightly, flippantly, or superficially.
σπούδασον – (Study) (1 st Aorist Active Imperative, 2 nd Person Singular, from the root form – σπουδάζω ). The word “ Study ” is written in the Imperative Mood. It is a command. You don ’ t have an option. “ Study ” , in this grammatical construct, contains the notion of persistent “ zeal ” . It means to give diligence. To the serious student of the Word of God, this is a holy directive and divine command from God. It is in the 2 nd Person Singular - so it is directed to you, the Subject. The Subject is specifically you, not someone else or a group of people in a plural conjugation. The Subject is doing the studying. It is in the Active voice so you are to be actively engaged in studying the Word, which is the Object. The Direct Object answers the question, “ Studying what? ” . You are to be actively, diligently, and persistently engaged in studying the Word of God.
παραστῆσαι  – (to shew) (1 st Aorist Active Infinitive, from the root form - πɑρíστημι ). The subject of the Infinitive is in the Accusative Case. “ Thyself ” is in the Accusative Case. Therefore, “ thyself ” should be doing the “ studying ” . Here we see that “ thyself ” benefits from the “ studying ” . In other words, in order for you (yourself) to benefit from the Word, you (yourself) must study it diligently.
σεαυτὸν – (thyself) (2 nd Person Accusative Singular Masculine). The Object of a Transitive Verb is placed in the Accusative Case. Therefore, σπούδασον σεαυτὸν means study to impact and affect yourself by the act of studying. The person who is doing the studying will be the one benefitting from the act of studying. This connotation is also reflexive and emphatic in nature. In other words, you must study so that you can prove yourself to be competent in the handling of the Word o
