Description

As a Christian, are you living for God through works or from God through connection and close relationships? Are you living as the church or the bride?

*The church lives for God. The bride lives from God.
*The church ministers to the people. The bride ministers to the Lord.
*The church loves conditionally. The bride just loves.
*The church sings and plays instruments. The bride worships.
*The church is successfully busy. The bride is fulfilled.
*The church does church. The bride does Kingdom.

As you read this book, it will give you Biblical and practical keys to move you from merely being the church to being the bride that the Lord is coming back for. It is time for the end-time church to prepare herself as the bride for our soon-coming King and Bridegroom, Jesus.

DEDICATION
I would like to dedicate this book to my earthly husband, James McCann. I want to thank you for your dedication, love, patience, long-suffering, self-control, and the meekness you have shown to me as your wife. I have not always been a faithful bride to you or to the Lord. I, through the grace of God and through your extending grace, have learned from the Lord, and through you, what faithfulness looks like. Thank you for valuing that and for showing me what it means to live it out. I believe that it is because of this growth in this area that God has seen fit to entrust us with planting an apostolic hub or church in our region. Only by His Holy Spirit can we do anything, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Without your loving me like Christ loves the church, and He, giving Himself for the church and you, giving yourself for me, I would not have made it to a place to even understand faithfulness, let alone walk it out for these years. I had no role models in my earth-life to expose me to faithfulness in the covenant of marriage. Now I am blessed to be in a place where I want to walk in it, am seeing the rewards of it and the protection of it. I am writing about it in hopes that it will help others develop a deep hunger for faithfulness to the Lord and in their own marriage covenants.
James, my first love will always be Yeshua, and you will always be in second place to Him. That is the Biblical order.
I believe that our covenant to one another on this earth is teaching us how to love the way He loves us-agape love—love without expectation or love without strings attached. My prayer is that we will continue to learn a deeper level of faithfulness by the Lord’s example and so model what the Bride of Christ is to a lost and faithless generation. I know that what we have overcome will not be wasted but used by God that as we “glory in our weaknesses, the power of God will rest upon us.” By His grace alone, we will finish well for His honor and glory.
I love you, and I believe in you, always and forever, Kelly

PREFACE
O ver three years ago, I was praying to the Lord, and I began to travail for the church. As I did, I sensed God saying to me, “I am coming back for the church, but I am looking for the bride.” I had never differentiated between the church and the bride because I know that the church, according to scripture is the bride of Christ. I began a journey with the Lord asking Him to show me the difference between the church and the bride and why He is looking for the bride. What would make Him distinguish that to me in that moment that I was interceding for the church? This book is the result and some of the answers and revelations to that question that I asked Him. I thought this book would be released over two years ago; however, along the way, the Lord allowed me to live some things so that instead of just writing about it, I would get a front-row seat to understand what it really means to have a married spirit.
I always thought that I understood what it meant to be faithful to the Lord, a good wife, a faithful bride, but as I look over my life, even on my best day, I have been unfaithful in so many ways that I wasn’t aware of. Therefore, instead of this book being a romance novel about Jesus and His Bride, I felt to write about those things, according to scripture, that are growth goals for you and I- the church- to begin to work towards becoming a good wife. We can listen to wonderful teachings that romanticize the bride of Christ in a church meeting or Bible study. However, if we are then going home and still treating our earthly spouses or the body of Christ very unkind, I think that we may be missing something. I asked the Holy Spirit to begin to highlight those qualities that make up a faithful bride of Christ. He began to answer me with various scriptures, Bible characters and incidents from my own life that taught me the difference between having a married spirit and an unmarried spirit.
Then a while later, this prophetic word came to me in the middle of an exhortation that I was giving at our midweek Blessing Circle meeting:
“I am coming back for the church, but I am looking for the bride. Many have functioned as my church but few as My Bride. They have taken me for better but have abandoned me for the worse. They have worshipped me in the health but have hardened their hearts and abandoned me in their sickness. They have loved me in the richer and blamed me in their poorer condition. They have loved me on their terms which was love with a hook. I have desired to move my church from organization to family and from orphanages to a house of confident sons and daughters. Only then can I move them from the church to My Bride. I have told you in my Word that I have given you keys to my Kingdom to bind and to loose. You have not used the keys I have given you because you haven’t trusted me to loose from heaven because you did not believe that I had your back.
I say, “I took you when you were in your depravity, I took you when you were poor. I took you when you were sick. I took you when you were at your worst and my covenant to save you, heal you, deliver you, and protect you has not changed.” I have not moved away from you, but you have moved away from me. Return to me and do those things that you did at first and I will be your first love for I will not take second place in your life. I have given you all of Me, now I ask for all of you—a faithful bride that I can have full confidence in. I faithful bride that does me no harm and believes in Me even as I believe in you. Return to the simplicity of knowing that I died for you and gave my life for you. You are caught in my gaze, the apple of my eye, and the one that I love. Return to us and seek first what is my righteousness and all the other things that you need will be added unto you. But you must return to Me, for my return is soon. You must be ready for I am coming back for a Bride without spot or wrinkle. Practice being a bride now in the earth. You’ve had enough practice being a church. Now practice being a bride. Practice trusting me in a whole new way for together we will rule and reign in the New Heaven and the New Earth that I have told you about. I want you by my side to rule and reign, but I have to trust you to have my back like I have yours.”
This theme began to show up in my dreams, visions, prophetic words, and intercession for the church. The Lord began to show me areas where the church was functioning in ways that made her unfaithful and then He began to show me through the Word what the attributes of being and learning to be faithful are.
Through this book I will contrast the unfaithful church with the faithful bride for the purpose of bringing about a godly sorrow that leads to repentance so that we, the ecclesia can make any changes we need to make to be that bride without spot or wrinkle upon His eminent return. I write this as one with you, the reader, in hopes that we will all individually return to our first love, The Lord, Jesus Christ. The end time Bride must be ready to think what He thinks, pray what he prays, say what He says, and do what He does. That was the model of Jesus and it worked for Him and it will work for us, if we can begin to move toward greater trust in what He is saying, do it His way and get His results in everything.
FOREWORD BY DR. LEO FRAM
B efore you begin to read this book, let me warn you that this will not be a speed read. This book is loaded with revelation knowledge, concepts, and applications that most of us have never considered previously. Be prepared to read slowly, thoughtfully, and prayerfully to ensure that you do not skip over the many nuggets of wisdom shared throughout its pages.
This is a book of multiple applications. We must become familiar with the teachings of the Word of God. Then we must work on behavior modification. As the Apostle James says don’t only be a hearer of the Word, but also be a doer. Too many people are satisfied to learn of a better way of living but are not desirous of making any adjustments. They choose to continue traveling the same path, knowing that it is a road leading to problems and frustration.
Apostle Kelly shares experiences from her own personal life that we can all relate to. She uses these stories as illustrations and teaching tools to help us see the bigger picture more
