This book, ”About The Holy Spirit, “ is a resource for anyone truly interested in whether the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a valid, current Biblical, manifestation that should be experienced by all Christian believers today. It shows scripturally how one is given the gift of the Holy Spirit when born again, which Jesus described as being “born of the Spirit” (John 3:7-8). The Holy Spirit is deeply involved in the salvation process, therefore, every believer has the potential for the operation of all the gifts of the Spirit immediately upon being saved, and should walk and live in the Spirit thereafter (Galatians 5:23). Speaking in tongues is one of the nine gifts of the Spirit that are given to every believer. “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good” (1 CO 12:7 NIV).

Preface
Holy Scripture contained in the Bible is the only source of truth that is authorized by God as the foundation of faith to be believed concerning him and his Kingdom.
• 2TI 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The scripture gives detailed information regarding God himself, and regarding everything which God brought into existence through his miraculous creative ability. We learn that God begot a Son, and he empowered that Son to create all things that were created in earth and in heaven.
• EPH 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ :
• HEB 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds ;
The scope of creation which God accomplished through his Son not only included the earth and its atmosphere, but also included heaven and all things therein.
• COL 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven , and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
• 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
As a part of all things which were created in heaven, and described as “ visible and invisible … principalities, or powers, ” the Holy Spirit was doubtless brought into existence by God through his Son. There is no other Biblical explanation for the origination of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit became a dominant divine person who was in extremely close communion with God the Father and his Son. The three are designated in the Bible as “ The Godhead,” and since creation they have worked together in close communication.
After the Son came to earth for a specific ministry, and then returned back to heaven so that he could work closely with his Father as the Head of the church, the Holy Ghost was sent to the church on earth to dwell within the bodies of every born again member of his church.
It is the author’s desire to participate in the perfecting of the church that will doubtless occur in the last days. Today all doctrinal beliefs and practices of the church must come from the New Testament, with Christ, the apostles, and the early church as our foundation and pattern.
• EPH 2: 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
The New Testament is filled with information regarding the Holy Spirit. In fact a dominant message contained in the New Testament regards the Holy Spirit, which is also called the Holy Ghost.
Most information regarding the Holy Ghost came from Jesus. God sent his only begotten Son to earth to give a plan of salvation whereby mankind could be forgiven for their sins, and obtain eternal life through God’s grace.
God’s plan was to first send his Son, who would accomplish his ministry on earth, and then the Son would return back to heaven to sit with his Father on his throne, to continue serving as the Head of the Church which he began before he left the earth. Paul prayed that the church would be strengthened by the Holy Spirit which was the “fullness of God” that would dwell in their inner man, which was the power that worked in them.
• EPH 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Besides sending his Son, a second phase of God’s plan was to send the Holy Ghost to live within the bodies of every Christian member of that church because they believed in his Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus told his disciples that soon after his return to Heaven, the Holy Ghost would be sent to dwell within them. This was extremely important, expedient, and urgent to Jesus. The truth concerning the Holy Spirit is still extremely important today.
• JOH 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Jesus knew the ministry of the Holy Ghost was vital to his church. He explained some important features of the ministry of the Holy Ghost.
• JOH 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
In the New Testament there is a treasure of information regarding the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said the following to his disciples.
• ACT 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The purpose of this book, according to its title, is to do an extensive Bible study “ ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT .”
May God Bless,
