Description

All in For Him engages readers in a meaningful reflection of life's experiences while considering God's perspective and his unique purpose for each of us.

Dr. Molly Hein’s book guides readers on a reflective journey through life’s struggles and celebrations. Within the pages, Molly reflects on her own experiences including a near abduction as a child, a long-term internal battle with body image and an eating disorder, and a story that connects death and life. Readers will have opportunities to reflect on their own experiences through God’s word, reflection activities, and discussion questions. In keeping up with modern times, optional opportunities are provided to interact with the author and other readers on social media. Molly’s prayer is that together we can strengthen our faith in God while gaining a deeper understanding of his plan in our lives. With God by her side, Molly will guide the reader toward embracing God’s love by discovering ways to be all in for him and his plan in our lives.

About the Author
Preface
Have you ever felt a strong conviction about an idea, decision, or situation, but assumed it wasn’t from God because you felt unqualified or undeserving? I have felt them many times. One of those convictions was to write this book. God has placed it on my heart for several years to bring this book to life, but I responded unfavorably to his request. I repeatedly answered ‘no’ and firmly reminded him how unqualified I was. The thing about God is, he’s persistent! When I said ‘no’, he reminded me: “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his steps” ( The Holy Bible , 1 Peter 2:21 NIV). Over the last few months, God’s call intensified, which led me to finally submit to his request with a decisive ‘YES!’ to bring this book to print.
I firmly believe every word written was placed on my heart by God. From the stories shared, to the suggested reflections and activities, and most importantly, through God’s word woven within the lines. To the person reading this, thank you for joining me on this journey. I truly believe God placed it on your heart to do so. Somewhere within these pages, God has a message just for you and I’m honored to be the one to share it with you!
One of the greatest things I’ve learned through my own celebrations and struggles is God can do anything. Not only can God do anything, but he is by our side through everything. As we go through these chapters together, I’ll reveal numerous ways God has moved in my life. I’ll share how I’ve discovered ways to be all in for him and with him and with the plan he has for my life . As we go through this journey together, my hope is to provide opportunities to reflect on the many ways God has moved in our lives. I pray you gain a clearer understanding of his purpose for you, because it’s bigger than you could ever imagine!
Throughout the bible, God’s power and strength is seen. The bible highlights the vast extent of what God’s love and grace can do for us. Even though God’s word is proof of what he can do, we are called to believe in him with or without evidence. God’s word reminds us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV) and to “cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you” (Psalm 55:22 ESV). As I’ve learned to pray continually and surrender my burdens to God, I’ve seen a remarkable transformation in my own life. When we learn to trust God with everything, it’s such a peaceful place to be. I hope the words in this book lead you toward finding new or renewed faith in trusting God and finding peace because of that trust.
Miracles happen every day and they happen all around us. The problem is, they often go unnoticed because we’re too focused on other things. The world miracle means “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs” (“Miracle,” def. 1). When I hear the word miracle, I visualize big things like the stories we hear in the bible. I can’t imagine being at the beach, casually strolling along only to look up and see the water part down the middle. God did that in Exodus 14:21. Can you imagine witnessing water pour out from inside a rock? God did that in Exodus 17:6. In Luke 7:22 God’s healing gave sight to the blind, guided the lame to walk, and raised the dead.
John 21:25 (NIV) states “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” That statement amazes me! I want you to take a moment and think of the miracles recorded in the bible that you are familiar with. If you had to choose, which one is your favorite? Mine is Jesus’ walking on water toward the disciples (Matthew 14:26). With God’s miracles happening around us every day, I’m hopeful we can be more vigilant of them in our own lives and perhaps reading this will bring light to miracles you’ve already witnessed.
Please know, whatever God is calling you to do, big or small, it’s all big and meant to be life-altering for someone (Whittle 91). On the day I finally answered God’s call to write this book, I remembered something my younger sister had said to me a few years before. One day as I was leaving her house, she’d felt a conviction to pray over me. She said, “The Holy Spirit is convicting me to pray for you, and you can’t ignore the Holy Spirit”. Thinking back to that day, and my sister’s conviction to listen to the Holy Spirit, I too stopped ignoring God’s conviction and began writing these words. I pray you are renewed in understanding your purpose and I pray you gain undeniable confidence in answering God’s call for you. Maybe you’re already answering his call and these words will offer reassurance that you are on the right path. No matter where you’re at with hearing God’s call in your own life, I pray you hear the message God is sending you today.
Before going any further, I ask that we proceed with caution. Believing in God and knowing in our hearts he can do anything does not mean he will do everything exactly as we want or expect. God sees the bigger picture that we can’t see. The reality is, we live in a world full of good and evil. Being a good person doesn’t exempt us from evil things happening. God warned man: “but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat it you will certainly die” (Genesis 2:17 NIV). Just 14 verses after God’s warning, Eve ate from the forbidden tree (Genesis 3:6). After disobeying God, she then shared the fruit with her husband Adam. How quickly we went from a life without sin to a life filled with sin!
As we draw closer to God, the enemy’s attempts to attack us through our thoughts and even through people around us seems to increase. God calls us to spread his word and his love by saying “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15 ESV). God desires for us to unite, to pray for one another and comfort each other. “If we give more of ourselves to God, God will give more of himself to us (Batterson 31). When we dedicate our lives to God, we acknowledge that everything in our lives happens for a reason. When we devote ourselves to God, we make a promise to live a life that is all in for him and with him in all we do.
