Description

Biblical Timeline to Faith lays out the biblical calendar, allows for the conversion of biblical dates to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, and explores mysteries of the Bible.
Biblical Timeline to Faith deciphers biblical prophecies while presenting the dates in the Bible alongside the Gregorian and Julian calendars.
Jesse H. Carter, who has been studying the Bible for twenty years, reveals the date Christ was born, the date of creation, the date of Christ's crucifixion, the date Israel left Egypt, and the dates Satan was bound in and loosed from the bottomless pit. He also lays out the seventy weeks of prophecy and explains how the number of the beast is calculated.
The author also observes that fear for one’s eternal soul is the first step to faith. It is this fear that motivates us to get to know God. Fear is the beginning for all of us who seek God—and wisdom is the result.
Filled with calendars charts, and figures to explain exactly when events occurred in the Bible, this book will serve as a valuable resource for Christians, scholars of history, and others.

A Word from the Author
PREFACE
When I began studying the Bible in 2003, I was not sure if I believed the Bible was inspired by God. I was not sure if there was a hell, if there was a heaven, or even if God was real. I feared eternal damnation enough to give an honest effort in finding the truth; the idea of eternal damnation did scare me. I had attended church as a child, but still I was not sure. I had gained some measure of worldly wisdom, but I had almost no godly wisdom. My dad told me to make sure I get to know God, and I have told my children to do the same. So I started studying, trying to gain God’s wisdom, understanding, and faith. My journey to faith began as every Christian’s journey begins: fear. There are many verses in the Bible which say fear is the beginning of faith, love, wisdom, and so on. Some people try to rationalize that “fear” does not mean fear in the Bible. “Fear” means fear, as the following verses indicate:
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)
This book is truly the path I took to faith. It makes sense that we should define faith according to the Bible. It is in the title of my book, and faith is what pleases our Father.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
We have never seen or heard our Father. It is the evidence he has left which we must decipher to find hope, wisdom, and faith that he is who he says he is. That evidence is in the scriptures. There are many mysteries in the Bible which the Father has put to us, challenges, and I diligently seek the answers. I have found some of them. If you take the path I have taken, which I have recorded in this book, you will find faith that the Bible is absolutely true. You will have faith without bounds, as I do. You will find answers to even more of the mysteries. You will know, as I know, that He is.
I know there are other paths to faith, other ideas which can help one to believe God is real and Jesus is his only begotten Son. I would love to know those other paths, and maybe I will find other paths. This book will help accomplish this for someone who is unsure. I know it from experience.
Fear for one’s eternal soul is the first step to faith. The fear motivates us to get to know God. Fear is the beginning for all of us who seek God. Wisdom is the result. Many verses have motivated me to do this work; some of those verses follow:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
The following verses are from Proverbs 4:5–7:
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Studying the Word of God is surely necessary to find faith. I believe this timeline and all the studying that came with it have given me faith without bounds. Also, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. While studying, we must believe the Bible is the truth, even when the world disagrees. It is hard to do, but it is possible with God. I know that God is real, his Son died for our sins, and the Bible is the true Word of God. I am unable to lose my faith. This timeline is a big part of my faith. The work has increased my faith. For the rest of my life, I will get wisdom, and with all my getting, I will get understanding. Wisdom is referred to as “she” and “her” in the Bible.
Wisdom comes from God. It is the gift of God. If you study endlessly and do not understand, ask God for wisdom and understanding. He will give it to you. There is wisdom that is easy, and wisdom that takes time to realize. The Bible calls that easy wisdom “milk.” The wisdom that is harder to understand is the mysteries, and it is called “strong meat.” Every beginner has need of milk, and as wisdom guides you along, you will gain the faith and ability to understand the strong meat.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:12–14)
There is much strong meat in this book. Very strong meat. It is very hard to accept one of these bits of wisdom. This book can be read in a short time, but it will take time for most to realize the truth in it. We cannot all agree all the time. Sometimes we can. Seek him diligently; you will find him. The Bible says that truth offends. It is not a fuzzy, feel-good thing. It is a rock of offense. We are told to love the next life and hate this life. Do not place all your eggs in this basket; there is an eternal one waiting for us. I hope we all meet in heaven.
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:15–17)
I first saw this verse in a doctor’s office, while reading a Gideon’s Bible. It was a revelation to me. The holy scriptures are able to make us wise unto salvation through faith, which is an amazing thing. “Make thee wise unto salvation” is a monumental statement. I want to be saved. Study the Bible a lot, until you understand it, which saves souls.
In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, t
