The Campus Survival Guide, from the editors of the popular Student to Student and Campus Voices books, features sixty student essays on topics ranging from communion sacraments to super heroes. Like its popular predecessors in the series, each devotional includes a list of Scripture readings for the week, along with a companion article offering helpful, humorous, or inspirational information. A Note from the Compilers
University life offers unique challenges. It's more complex than high school, but still a prelude to that wonderful world of life and work that awaits the university graduate. Maybe you're moving onto campus for the first time, or transferring to a different school with a new set of challenges. During times of change, it's important to have resources to assist you in what can sometimes be trying or lonely situations.
Sure, you're linked to friends and family by email, phone, Skype, texts and tweets. On campus, there are many resources available to you, from financial aid counselors and student life reps to professors and obliging staff. Yet even those connections may not suffice when your roommate starts driving you crazy or your scholarship suddenly disappears. Sometimes a student just wants to hear from other students who have “been there.”
That's why The Campus Survival Guide offers an array of “been there” stories. These essays, written by Christian college students from across the country, describe your peers' experiences with temptations and tests, pain and joy, even signs and wonders. The Campus Survival Guide can be that good book in your pocket that you pull out and read when you need a verse, a prayer, a laugh or a good idea.
We hope the students' honest, open, heartfelt stories will inspire and encourage you on your university journey. Further, we hope this book may rouse your faith, bring cheer on a difficult day, and remind you of God's ultimate love and care.
May God bless you!

I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.
P SALM 121:1–4, NLT
I tentatively climbed to the top of the platform and peered over the six-foot drop. There stood two lines of teenagers, arms extended, peering up at me. I took a ragged breath, stepped to the edge, and turned my back to them. Then, I fell.
This was my first experience with a “trust fall.” I was at a high school camp, and it was definitely a challenge. Giving up control, falling into the (feeble) arms of my peers, trusting them to catch me—all this was contrary to my character. I like to know exactly what is going to happen next, and there was too much uncertainty in this thing called a trust fall. I was not a fan.
Little did I know that this would not be my last trust fall—though not all of them would involve literally falling from a raised platform. College, as I would soon discover, is one huge trust fall. The uncertainti
