The Founders declared their independence from Great Britain. They reasoned, why should a small island rule over a vast continent? Today, we must declare our independence from the Left. Why should a small group of leftist elitists rule over a vast number of conservative Christians?

This book pulls together all the outrages the Left has committed against us: twenty-seven grievances in all, the same number as in the original Declaration of Independence. For each grievance the book provides three easy-to-grasp points; explains the violation of common sense and Biblical truth; and reveals the consequences to our country and the organizations you can join to fight back.

Consider an army that is facing encirclement and annihilation. Would they go about their daily routines, digging latrines and cleaning their boots, and just hope the enemy goes away? Well, that army is us. Should we go about our daily routines and just hope the totalitarian Left goes away?

No. It is time to wake up. It is time to unite and fight back … peacefully and lawfully. Time is short so join the fight!

What is happening in the world right now?
Traditional Christian values are being ignored. The Ten Commandments have been removed from courthouses. The Lord’s Prayer is no longer said in public schools. (Mentioning “Jesus Christ” in a public school might get you thrown out or disciplined, but anything positive about Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism is encouraged.) The rights enshrined in the Declaration of Independence have been corrupted into imaginary rights that can be granted by government or a court of so-called law. Children are being persuaded and encouraged to abandon Biblical values and switch sexual genders or assume a new identity that resembles animals (“furries”, or even specific animals—you can look it up). Libraries help sponsor “Drag Queen Story Hours” explicitly for children.
Public school teachers who say they are Christians refuse to leave their corrupted and anti-Christian “teacher labor unions” that take their dues and support Planned Parenthood and other anti-Christian organizations, as well as Marxists running for political office. Christian parents sending their children to public schools risk their children losing their faith and their identity in Christ, delivering their children into the hands of those who gleefully mount attacks against the family and aim to separate children from their parents.
In the spirit and format of Thomas Paine’s famous booklet, Common Sense , Dave Johnson’s new book establishes where we are in the world and how Christians should respond. It articulates a new set of grievances against government and culture and helps Christians understand the war that culture is waging against all Christians, and against the family unit created by God in particular. This book gives Christians a better understanding of how the Enemy is working against God in modern times.
As a retired military officer, I can vouch for the fact that you cannot defeat an enemy without understanding the enemy’s intent as well as the battle space. This book helps Christians who may have been too busy or disconnected to understand the battle being waged against your children, your country, and your family. Its many cited examples (with excellent research) validate its claims and give Christians effective weapons in their arsenal to find the truth: the real Truth that is Jesus Christ.
You will find in your reading that this book helps point out the validation of Jesus’ words in Matthew 10:22: “… and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake.” Remembering how Jesus was maligned and persecuted helps to put today’s culture into perspective. INTRODUCTION
In Colorado, a twelve-year-old girl is invited to an after-school art club, only to discover that it is a Gender and Sexuality Alliance “safe space,” where an outside speaker informs the children that if they are not fully comfortable in their bodies, they are transgender. 1
The Walt Disney Corporation screams in outrage that the State of Florida prevents teachers from spreading LGTBQ doctrine until the third grade.
The education establishment acts like they own the students, not the parents, and can teach children whatever the establishment wants; parents be accursed.
We are living in the Age of the Absurd, according to conservative radio host Dennis Prager. Here are some of the outrageous claims he has identified that leftists profess with evangelical zeal: 2
• Men can give birth.
• Biological men can compete in women’s sports.
• Defunding police will reduce crime.
• Race, not character, matters.
• Humans do not exist until they are born.
Within ten years, the Left has turned the world upside down:
• States push abortion laws that essentially legalize infanticide.
• Men can become women, and women can become men. A Supreme Court justice claims she cannot define what a woman is.
• Men can marry men, and women can marry women. Marriage has little meaning; so, why bother?
• Police are the problem, not the criminals.
• White supremacists are the nation’s greatest threat but are hard to find, unlike the real threat, which is easy to find and clearly seen on TV, as leftist rioters destroy two billion dollars of property during the summer riots of 2020.
• The January 6 Capital break-in is an insurrection, but none of the participants were armed, and many were let in by the police.
Everything is politicized today. The Department of Justice is politicized. It indicts Trump allies, like Roger Stone, Peter Navarro, Carter Page, Steve Bannon, and Michael Flynn, but exonerates Hilary Clinton from destroying subpoenaed records from her private server, Eric Holder from refusing to respond to a subpoena from Congress, and Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe from lying under oath.
The military is politicized. Military brass openly criticize President Trump, thereby alienating potential recruits who voted for him, and vow to weed out “white supremacists,” leftist code for conservatives.
Even healthcare is politicized. The government essentially outlaws common, low-cost medications, like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, to treat COVID-19 because Trump used them. The government ignores treatments in general for the disease and instead forces people to get vaccinated, on pain of dismissal.
Our elections are corrupt. The Democrats wail that commonsense voter ID laws, prevalent throughout Europe, are wicked and must be outlawed here and that mass mailings of ballots, nearly impossible to validate when returned, are righteous and must be permitted.
Now, the Democrats in power use the national police to persecute and prevent their political opponents from holding office. They officially make us a banana republic when they send the FBI to raid Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
So, what would our country’s founders think? Would they even choose to live here today? Back then, they thought that living here was worth dying for. They signed their own death warrants when they put their names to the twenty-seven grievances against the British Crown, included in the Declaration of Independence, signed on July 4, 1776. They drew a line in the sand; they were finished with the Crown.
Here are just a few of their grievances.
