Description

This personal narrative shares one woman’s experiences and journey with God and invites you to embrace the idea that you are never alone and that God has a purpose for everything in your life.

Have you ever wondered where God is in your life? Have you ever asked yourself why things are happening and why He seems to be silent? How does He speak to us today and help us in our journeys?

God’s Little Nudges takes a look at our journey with God and our experiences in life. It explores how God talks to us, teaches us, and relates to us, no matter how difficult life gets. Author Rebecca K. Rollins uses the style of a self-help guide, but instead of telling us how to look out for number one, she shows us how to rely on Him and depend on the Holy Spirit for help using examples from her own experiences. Even though we must face sickness and challenges in life, there is a way we can go through this journey full of joy, peace, and hope, no matter what is happening. Rollins demonstrates how she has achieved that in her life and how anyone who chooses to can achieve it as well. It is vital we know who we are in Christ, whose we are, and the kind of God we serve.

Acknowledgements
First and foremost, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for not only making me beautiful in His image but for sending Jesus down as my Teacher and Savior, saving me from the sting of sin and death and from illnesses, sicknesses, and diseases. He wants to make us whole physically and emotionally. I thank Him for ascending into heaven and leaving me the Holy Spirit not only to guide and protect me but also to strengthen me in my daily walk. I am thankful also for the Holy Bible, which is a Christian’s instruction manual to get through this life victoriously. It gives us encouragement, strength, peace, comfort, courage, and healing, among other gifts. Thank You, Lord, for strategically and purposely placing all people’s situations and circumstances in our lives to mold us, make us, and cultivate in us what you originally made us to be for your purpose in your kingdom. Thank You for the churches You have placed in my journey and for the mentors, leaders, and kingdom connections I have had along the way.
Thank You for my parents, who raised me in the church, taking me to Sunday school and giving me a strong foundation about Jesus—what He did and His love, care, and relationship. Even when they had to watch me make many bad choices in my life, they never stopped loving me, never gave up on me, and continued praying for me all these years. They always asked me to go to church with them, get into Bible study, and so on. With kids of my own now, I can see how hard it must have been to go through that. Thank You for the love and support of my two brothers, my three beautiful daughters, and my son-in-law. They have a special place in my heart, and I want the best for them in life. I pray that my girls set high goals and become anything God wants them to be, as God knows what’s best for us. I pray that they grow up loving and respecting God and have an intimate relationship with Him and that they learn from my mistakes and not have to learn the hard way like I did. Please watch over and protect my family and friends. In Jesus’s name, amen.
I want to acknowledge and thank the people who supported me through this process. Taurea Advant, you were so helpful in my journey in finishing my book. I thank you and appreciate all you do. Love you, sis.
To my family and friends who preordered my book, your support was such an encouragement to get this done. I thank each and every one of you and love you so much.
To my mom, Paula Rollins, my biggest cheerleader, my confidante, and my friend. To my dad, Rich Rollins, for always teaching me how to treat others, instilled belief in myself, my dreams, and goals. I love you so much and am ever so grateful to God for you. I love you.
To Melissa Soria Kahn (Missy), we have known each other for years since grade school. God reconnected us again, and I miss our daily meetings and Bible studies with the ladies. I thank God for you. Always remember the blood of Jesus and shields up!
To Jessica Gaurd (Jess), oh how I miss working with you and the kids. Those times hold so many fond memories, making fun times out of our “Chuck E. Cheese” classroom, teaching me phrases like “That’s just so special,” haha! I still talk that way to this day. I thank God for you.
To Flossie Smith, although we just met recently through the women’s group, I feel we have known each other for years. Our women’s group is such a blessing, and I’m thankful to have you in my life. I thank God for you.
To Cheryl Rogers, our journey and friendship, though life throws us curve balls, have been constant. You are always there when I need you. Thank you for being my friend and always supporting me. I thank God for you.
To Silvia Hererra Rodriquez, you have always been there for me, loving, encouraging, and praying for me. Thank you for supporting me and being my friend. I thank God for you.
To Tammy Detwiler-Schlesser, our friendship began through Missy and our Bible study. You are such a sweetheart. I miss our lady’s group and our weekly get-togethers. I am thankful to God for your friendship, love, and support.
To Rhonda L. Cross, we have seen life’s ups and downs, encouraging one another along our journey in life. Thank you for your love and support. I thank God for you.
To all my friends, loved ones, and supporters, you matter. You are one of a kind. You were made on purpose for purpose. Walk in your calling and purpose. He doesn’t expect you to know everything and have everything figured out but to simply say yes to taking a leap of faith, and when you do, He will soar on eagle’s wings.
CHAPTER 1
I was raised believing in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. When God made the first man, Adam, He saw he needed a helper, so He made Eve, the first woman. God walked and talked with them in the garden of Eden and told them, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden but must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die” (Genesis 2:16–17 NIV). All was wonderful in the garden of Eden with Adam, Eve, and God until one day, the serpent twisted God’s words around and said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden? You will not surely die. For God knows once you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God knowing good and evil.”
Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the LORD God had made. And the serpent (Satan) said to the woman, “Can it really be that God has said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” … except the fruit from the tree which is in the middle of the garden. God said, “You shall not eat from it nor touch it, otherwise you will die.” But the serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened [that is, you will have greater awareness], and you will be like God, knowing [the difference between] good and evil.” And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise and insightful, she took some of its fruit and ate it; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of the two of them were opened [that is, their awareness increased], and they knew that they were naked; and they fastened fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
