If what you believe works for you to make God real and fills your heart with God’s Love and moves you to love and help your neighbor when your neighbor needs help and makes life worth living, then you have no need to change your beliefs.
In my chapter on the beginning of the heavens and earth, my description of the universe is like a kindergarten book when compared to the modern knowledge of the professionals but my descriptions of the amazing correlations between the Bible and modern knowledge of the universe are clear and accurate. How could the writer of Genesis know so accurately events that happened eons before he was born?
There is absolutely not a single scientist or expert that knows how it all began and they all admit the fact but many are still unwilling to accept that God created the heavens and the earth even though it is the most rational, logical, and intelligent explanation. How can anyone deny the existence of God who existed before the beginning of the universe? Their prescience must have been God given.
Now I will begin with proof of the misunderstanding by Jewish and gentile Christians of the intention and mission of Jesus on earth. John the Baptist had strong, clear and settled beliefs in his mind about what the Messiah was supposed to do.
John the Baptist attracted large crowds of people who came to hear him when he preached. His sermons always told the people that they were sinners and must repent and be baptized, and John the Baptist baptized many people.
Priests and Levites came to John and said: “Who are you?” John told them that he was not the Christ but he was preparing the way for the one who comes after him and he was not worthy to untie his sandals. The next day Jesus came to John and asked John to baptize him. John baptized Jesus and then said: “I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”
A year or so later, John the Baptist was in prison and asked a man who was allowed to visit him about Jesus. Tell me about Jesus. What is he preaching and doing? (Paraphrase) The man answered truthfully even though he probably knew John would be disappointed. John was terribly disappointed and also angry when he heard Jesus was just preaching love and peace and was not a warrior. John told the man to ask Jesus: “Are you the Messiah or should we look for another? Jesus was not what John expected and wanted. He wanted the Messiah to be a temporal King who would win a war, if necessary. that would free Jews from Roman rule and abuse.
The apostles made the same mistake and so did the early Christians. Do most Christians make the same mistake today? If they do, how much does it matter? It certainly is not a mortal or unforgiveable sin. How much does what we believe about Jesus matter? It surely matters but God did not want it to be difficult to know how to be close to Him and a member of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The prophet Micah gives this answer to someone who asks Micah this question:
“With what shall I come before the Lord?” Micah tells him: “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Christianity and Judaism have spread all over the world and the number of Christians is now in the billions. I don’t know the number of Jews but they will tell you that quality is more important than numbers and I will never argue with my Jewish friends about that.
The same is true of the Catholic Church. They have spread and increased the number of Christians more than any other institution, even though their history is seriously flawed. Without flawed Jews and Jewish religion and flawed Christians there would be no Christianity or Judaism or Kingdom of Heaven and none will be separated from Gods Grace.
Chapter One

How Could Jesus Know?
(And the most consequential war ever fought.)
Jesus could not see the end of his mission on earth while he was still a child. Like all other humans, he had to work to learn and acquire his knowledge. His amount of knowledge as a child was amazing to the Jewish teachers. We know that he read and studied the available scriptures of the OT and that he attended the synagogue. When and how did he know with certainty that a cross was at the end of his mission on earth? He had to pray hard especially near the end of his mission on earth to be certain.
We can find in the Bible two prayers that describe how Jesus struggled with, and for, knowledge of the mission and the intention that God wanted him to accomplish while he was on earth. No one can satisfactorily explain how Jesus was both human and Divine. We know that Divinity was in his mind, heart, soul and mission. We also know that he had miraculous powers that he did not use. We know he was One with God. It is not important to argue about a trinity the way that some people try to do.
The first of the two prayers was right after John the Baptist baptized him. Jesus went to a place where he could be alone with God. I believe he was seeking knowledge and wanted reassurance from God about the mission he was ready to begin. What did God want him to do and to accomplish? How did God want him to do it? Dear Father, what is your will for me? The best description of this prayer is found in Matthew.
After his baptism, Jesus went into the desert and fasted for 40 days and nights. We need to remember the Bible is telling us about a struggle going on within Jesus. Human wishes and desires came into his mind that would have been bad if acted out; just like they do in your mind and mine. His mind and heart was learning from the Holy Spirit within him about God’s will for him. Bad thoughts and urges within Jesus occurred because he was human. In Matthew they are attributed to an actual Devil but he is fighting a battle inside himself between good and bad thoughts, wishes, desires, emotions and intentions. (Satan is a word used by ancient minds to identify what is happening when normal and natural desires and urges within a human are in danger of being acted out in bad and evil behavior. —Paul and others describe the fight as a war within him between the spirit and the flesh.) I believe that people who believe that a devil and demons are literal actual living things are usually plagued by unnecessary harmful fears and superstitions. I do not believe it is bad or evil to believe those things unless you use their beliefs to take advantage of people too suspicious.
The first temptation of Jesus was to use magical power to turn stone into bread because he was hungry and wanted to satisfy his hunger. Jesus overcame this temptation by remembering words in the Bible that told him; “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that God speaks.” A miracle would make it easy to satisfy his hunger.
